　　Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen ,
　　Welcome to this year’s English speech competition.
　　This year’s topic is “the English novel I like best” .It is a really interesting topic . Taking part in this competition is not only a great opportunity for you to improve both your spoken English and listening ability ,but also does good to helping you develop a great reading habit. In this contest , the time of every participant’s speech will be limited within 5 minutes. Every participant is expected to speak fluently ,and your pronunciation should be as precise as possible. I hope everybody can share your favorite English novel ,show your speech talent and make friends with each other .
