China is emerging as an economic power as the country has been getting the benefits of enormous economic growth that started in 1978, when the government started its march towards the economic freedom. The GDP of the country touched new extremes when the country joins WTO in December 2001 and although most of the strongest economies experienced one of the worst recession in the history during the 2007-08 (UK Parliament, 2010). China through better economic policies not only escaped the impact of depression, the fact is that the country maintained growth rate during the period (Trading Economies, 2012). The GDP growth rate that the country maintained during the year 2010 has been estimated at 10.3%; however, the inflation rate and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of the country show that the inflation rate in the country is mounting with the passage of time.
