【摘要】： 英語已經(jīng)成為國際學(xué)術(shù)領(lǐng)域的通用語。因此對旨在學(xué)術(shù)領(lǐng)域獲得成就的未來的學(xué)者和研究人員們來說，用英語進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)論文寫作是必不可缺的技能。模糊限制語是英語學(xué)術(shù)論文寫作中常用的策略，它能表明作者對話語及讀者的態(tài)度，，給作者及讀者都留下討論的余地，體現(xiàn)了作者的科學(xué)態(tài)度及對同行的尊重。但是長期以來模糊限制語一直被人們忽視，甚至有的人認(rèn)為使用模糊限制語是低劣文風(fēng)的標(biāo)志。由于長期以來人們對模糊限制語及其用法認(rèn)識不足，很多英語學(xué)術(shù)論文的語言都顯得武斷和過于肯定。這一現(xiàn)象在以英語為二語者的學(xué)術(shù)論文中更為明顯。本文通過兩個自建的英語學(xué)術(shù)論文語料庫，即以英語為母語者學(xué)術(shù)論文語料庫和中國作者學(xué)術(shù)論文語料庫，對這兩個語料庫里模糊限制語的使用進(jìn)行了定量和定性研究。這項研究對兩個語料庫里模糊限制語的出現(xiàn)頻率，種類，分布規(guī)律等進(jìn)行了對比分析，并探討了各種模糊限制語的功能，及阻撓和鼓勵人們使用模糊限制語的原因。結(jié)果表明中國作者學(xué)術(shù)論文語料庫里的模糊限制語不論從數(shù)量還是從種類上都少于以英語為母語者學(xué)術(shù)論文語料庫。出現(xiàn)這種現(xiàn)象的原因很多，而對英語的掌握程度，及存在的文化差異是最明顯的影響中國作者使用模糊限制語的因素。同時不了解學(xué)術(shù)團(tuán)體共同遵循的規(guī)則也是一個不可忽視的因素。針對這些差異及影響因素，本文提出了一些切實可行的措施，期望能夠在特殊用途英語教學(xué)中提高二語作者使用模糊限制語的意識及在寫作中恰當(dāng)運用模糊限制語的能力。
