【摘要】：清季總理衙門總辦章京顧肇新在致其兄顧肇熙的一批書信中,對1897年中德膠州灣交涉、1898年春張之洞入樞受阻、翁同煝開缺原因、總署對康有為《第六書》的議覆、戊戌政變后光緒皇帝的處境和就醫(yī)情況等重要問題,都有記述和評議;因為作者是歷史事件的親歷者和參與者,臧否人物、評議時局,多是局內(nèi)人言,與以往成說有所差異。分析這批函札對研究晚清政治史特別是戊戌前后的朝局和政情將有很大助益和啟發(fā)。
