【摘要】："土團(tuán)",作為中唐以降地方團(tuán)練兵的一種,因部分地區(qū)兵力不足而成為其兵役的實(shí)際承擔(dān)者,它們主要通過政府依戶征集而來,屬于國(guó)家無需供養(yǎng)的地方民兵,其人數(shù)往往并不固定,多存在于晚唐的南方地區(qū)。起初,"土團(tuán)"雖為地方兵力重要的補(bǔ)充來源,但只是作為輔助的軍力參與戡亂。隨著晚唐中央對(duì)地方逐漸失去控制,其統(tǒng)領(lǐng)者開始由朝廷的命官轉(zhuǎn)化為地方豪強(qiáng),"土團(tuán)"也開始由國(guó)家遏制地方動(dòng)亂的重要支柱,蛻變?yōu)橹С指顡?jù)、顛覆帝國(guó)的重要幫兇。到五代時(shí)期,"土團(tuán)"對(duì)地方社會(huì)影響更甚,尤其在南方地區(qū)事實(shí)上成為取代舊勢(shì)力,建立新割據(jù)的軍力基礎(chǔ)與推動(dòng)力量。
