【摘要】：吞并旁遮普后,鑒于旁遮普自然社會(huì)狀況,為維護(hù)殖民統(tǒng)治利益,英印當(dāng)局決定大規(guī)模開發(fā)西旁遮普荒地。從19世紀(jì)后半期到1947年印巴分治前,英印當(dāng)局在西旁遮普興修起龐大的現(xiàn)代灌溉系統(tǒng),并在新開發(fā)的大面積灌溉耕地上建立起9個(gè)灌渠殖民地。灌渠殖民地的建設(shè)給英國殖民統(tǒng)治帶來豐厚的利益,也使旁遮普社會(huì)經(jīng)濟(jì)面貌發(fā)生巨大的改變。
[Abstract]:After the annexation of Punjab, in view of the natural social conditions of Punjab and in order to safeguard the interests of colonial rule, the British and Indian authorities decided to develop the western Punjab wasteland on a large scale. From the second half of the 19th century to the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, the British and Indian authorities built a huge modern irrigation system in the western Punjab and established nine irrigation canal colonies on the newly developed large area of irrigated farmland. The construction of irrigation and canal colonies has brought rich benefits to British colonial rule and made great changes in the social and economic appearance of Punjab.
