【摘要】：澳洲歷史上對早期華人移民群體的認(rèn)知存在片面化和簡單化的現(xiàn)象。這種認(rèn)知認(rèn)為淘金熱中的華人礦工一味淘洗廢舊金礦并破壞了當(dāng)?shù)厮?而華人聚居區(qū)則是傳染疾病的源頭。"華人破壞環(huán)境"這一指責(zé)相當(dāng)程度上為殖民當(dāng)局出臺排華政策提供了依據(jù)。通過對比研讀當(dāng)年礦區(qū)遺存的立法檔案與民間資料,以環(huán)境史的視角重新切入這一歷史觀點(diǎn),還原當(dāng)時(shí)華人淘金活動的全貌,不難看出,早期華人移民開展了多樣化的淘金活動,特別是將珠三角地區(qū)的傳統(tǒng)勞作經(jīng)驗(yàn)引入澳大利亞淘金熱,而這并不必然破壞常規(guī)的采礦活動與生態(tài)環(huán)境。所以說華人對環(huán)境的破壞本身是種族歧視與迫害的直接產(chǎn)物,只不過它反過來又為種族歧視的進(jìn)一步制度化與流行制造了所謂事實(shí)依據(jù)。通過批判淘金熱時(shí)代"華人破壞環(huán)境"之話語,我們可以深入反省澳洲傳統(tǒng)歷史編纂中的種族歧視問題,也可以彰顯華人移民在澳洲歷史整體進(jìn)程中的積極影響。
[Abstract]:In the history of Australia, there is a one-sided and simplistic phenomenon in the cognition of the early Chinese immigrant groups. This perception holds that Chinese miners in the Gold Rush are always washing out old gold mines and destroying local water sources, and that the areas inhabited by Chinese people are the source of infectious diseases. " The accusation that the Chinese destroyed the environment provided a basis for the colonial authorities to introduce a policy of exclusion from China. It is not difficult to see that by comparing and studying the legislative archives and folk materials that remained in the mining areas of that year, and re-entering this historical viewpoint from the perspective of environmental history, and restoring the whole picture of the gold prospecting activities of the Chinese people at that time, it is not difficult to see. The early Chinese immigrants carried out diversified gold mining activities, especially the traditional labor experience in the Pearl River Delta region, which did not necessarily destroy the conventional mining activities and ecological environment. Therefore, the destruction of the environment by the Chinese is a direct product of racial discrimination and persecution, but it in turn creates the so-called factual basis for the further institutionalization and popularity of racial discrimination. By criticizing the words "Chinese destroy the environment" in the gold rush era, we can deeply reflect on the racial discrimination in the compilation of traditional Australian history, and also highlight the positive influence of Chinese immigrants in the whole process of Australian history.
