【摘要】：在歐洲中心主義居于主導(dǎo)地位的啟蒙時(shí)代,布豐等人闡發(fā)的"美洲退化論"可謂獨(dú)樹一幟,影響廣泛。這對(duì)宣稱承擔(dān)著上帝賦予之特殊使命的美國(guó)人來(lái)說(shuō),簡(jiǎn)直就是一種蔑視或侮辱。領(lǐng)導(dǎo)這個(gè)新國(guó)家的開國(guó)先輩自然不會(huì)對(duì)這種"荒唐"理論的存在熟視無(wú)睹,任其四處傳播,必然憤而反擊,一洗布豐等人強(qiáng)加給美洲大陸的不實(shí)之詞。他們對(duì)這種理論反駁的結(jié)果無(wú)疑加強(qiáng)了由移民組成的這個(gè)新國(guó)家的凝聚力,讓美國(guó)人對(duì)它的發(fā)展前景充滿足夠的自信,也有效地改變了歐洲人腦海中美洲或美國(guó)的負(fù)面形象,在形成美國(guó)國(guó)家意識(shí)上起到很大的促進(jìn)作用。
[Abstract]:In the enlightening era when European centralism was dominant, the theory of American degradation, which was elucidated by Buffon and others, was unique and had a wide range of influences. It was an affront or insult to an American who claimed a special mission from God. The founding fathers who led the new country would naturally not turn a blind eye to the existence of this "absurd" theory, let it spread everywhere, must fight back, and wash out the false words imposed on the American continent by the likes of Buffon. The result of their refutation of this theory undoubtedly reinforces the cohesion of the new nation of immigrants, gives Americans sufficient confidence in its prospects for development, and effectively changes the negative image of Central America or the United States in the minds of Europeans. In the formation of the national consciousness of the United States played a great role in promoting.
