【摘要】：美國愛爾蘭移民集中在 19 世紀中后期來到美國,可以說,這一時期到來的愛爾蘭移民構成了美國愛爾蘭移民族裔的基礎。本文著重探討了 19 世紀中后期美國愛爾蘭移民的到來、定居、就業(yè)及與美國主流社會發(fā)生的沖突、適應過程。在這一同化過程中,愛爾蘭移民特性對美國經濟、政治、民族、宗教、社會、文化的發(fā)展以及美國多元化社會的形成有著自己獨特的貢獻。而大饑荒時期愛爾蘭移民的獨特流亡心理也對他們在美國的融合過程有著不可低估的影響。在與主流社會的沖突與適應過程中,愛爾蘭移民對所遭遇的排斥有兩種心理反應:反叛和迎合主流社會的標準。主流社會對美國愛爾蘭移民的排斥造就了他們在政治上的成功而政治上的成功在某種程度上反而成為他們融入美國社會的阻礙。在愛爾蘭美國人融合進美國社會的過程中,他們的覺醒的白人種族意識使他們攻擊黑人以提高自己的地位,這種強調種族主義的意識隨著愛爾蘭人在美國城市政治中的影響而影響到日后的美國種族關系的發(fā)展。美國愛爾蘭移民與后來的其他移民群體的沖突也構成了 19 世紀末 20 世紀初美國城市政治的一個特點。 本文的第一部分是背景部分,敘述了 19 世紀中后期的愛爾蘭移民與美國社會的情況,包括 19 世紀中后期大規(guī)模移民潮的爆發(fā)原因、特點、影響,面對愛爾蘭天主教移民潮美國社會的反應及這種反應對愛爾蘭移民同化模式的影響。 本文的第二部分是主體部分,敘述了 19 世紀中后期愛爾蘭移民與美國主流社會的沖突和融合,當時美國社會對天主教愛爾蘭移民排斥、歧視,在這困難的過程中,愛爾蘭移民獨特的流亡者心理影響著他們在美國的同化過程,經歷了磨難、困苦和不屈的奮斗,愛爾蘭移民最終融入了美國社會,留下了自己獨特的同化模式。 本文的第三部分是認識部分,論述了 19 世紀到來的愛爾蘭移民對當時和以后的美國歷史發(fā)展的影響,可以說,今天的美國文化、宗教、民族的發(fā)展都受到了當年大批到來的天主教愛爾蘭移民的影響,愛爾蘭移民以自己的特色為美國歷史的發(fā)展作出了卓越的貢獻。 本文的最后部分是結論,愛爾蘭移民在美國與主流社會的沖突與適應是相互的過程,彼此影響的過程。
[Abstract]:Irish immigrants in the United States in late nineteenth Century came to the United States, it can be said that the arrival of Irish immigrants during this period of Irish American immigration of ethnic based. This paper focuses on the United States in the late nineteenth Century Irish immigrants settled employment and conflict, with the U.S. mainstream society to adapt to the process. In the process of assimilation in the characteristics of Irish immigrants to the U.S. economy, political, ethnic, religious, social and cultural development and the formation of American pluralistic society has its own unique contribution. But during the great famine of Irish immigrants in exile for their unique psychological fusion process in the United States have the impact should not be underestimated in the conflict with the mainstream. The society and the process of adaptation, Irish immigrants has two kinds of psychological reactions to encounter rejection: rebel and cater to the mainstream society of Irish American mainstream society. The exclusion of immigrants created their success in politics and political success in some extent but they become into American society. In the process of blocking fusion of Irish Americans into American society, their awakening consciousness that they attack the black white race to enhance their status, this emphasis on racism with consciousness influence of Irish people in the United States City in politics and affect the development of race relations in the United States after the conflict. On the Irish Americans and later other immigrant groups also form at the end of nineteenth Century and early twentieth Century America city politics a characteristic.
The first part is the background part, the Irish immigrants in the late nineteenth Century and the American society, including the mass immigration in the late nineteenth Century tide outbreak reason, characteristics, effects, and the effect of reaction in the face of the Irish Catholic immigrants in American society to deal with anti Irish immigrant assimilation model.
The second part is the main part of the conflict and integration in the late nineteenth Century Irish immigrants and the mainstream of American society, the American Society of Catholic Irish immigrants in the process of exclusion, discrimination, difficulty, Irish immigrants unique psychological influence of their exile in the United States the process of assimilation, suffering, hardship and unyielding struggle, Irish immigrants eventually assimilated into American society, leaving their own unique assimilation mode.
This is the third part of the knowledge part, discusses the Irish immigrants arrived in nineteenth Century to the historical development of the influence, said that today's American culture, religion, national development is coming when a large number of Catholic Irish immigrants influence, Irish immigrants have made outstanding contributions to their own characteristics for the development of the history of the United States.
The final part of this article is the conclusion that the conflict and adaptation of Irish immigrants in the United States and the mainstream society are the process of mutual influence.
