[Abstract]:From June 12th 2010 to 15th, a symposium on "History Theory: comparison and Fusion between China and the West" was held at Shanghai normal University. The symposium was hosted by Shanghai normal University and many scholars from universities in Beijing and Shanghai. This paper discusses the problems in the theory of Chinese and Western historiography, including the acceptance of western historiography in Chinese historiography, the comparison between Chinese and Western historiography, the historical experience, and the new literature.
