Abstract:Governanceilluminatestheinteractionsbetweenstate,marketandcivilsociety,andinparticularhighlightstheroleofgovernmentandsocialresponsibilityofcivilsociety.ThispaperfirstreviewsurbanandregionalgovernanceamongChineseliteratureandfindsthatresearchofgovernanceinChinabeginswithob-servationsattheurbanlevelandproliferatesduetomoretheoreticalandempiricalinputsfromregionaldi-mension.Thesecondpartdealswiththescalesofgovernance.Fourtypesofgovernancehavebeenidentifiedfromexistingliteratureinhumangeographyandrelateddisciplines,namely,global,regional,urbanandgrass-rootsgovernance.Globalgovernancetacklestransnationalissuesregardingglobalpeace,securityanddevel-opment.Regionalgovernanceaimstostimulateregionaldevelopmentunderhighlycompetitiveglobalenvi-ronment,whichencompassesjurisdictionalrestructuringandinter-jurisdictionaltrade-offs.Urbangover-nancedepictsvariegatedlocalpoliticsthoughwhichcivilsocietystandsout.Grassrootsgovernanceindicatestherisingbottom-upinitiativesthatshakethemodeofmono-statedominatedurbandevelopment.Thethirdpartofthepaperexaminesintotheconceptofcollaborativegovernance,anewapproachtofacilitateformalengagementofprinciplestakeholderswithaviewtoachievingconsensustowardspolicymaking.Keywords:governance;scale;collaborativegovernance;humangeography

提要：在理解轉(zhuǎn)型中國(guó)的城市與區(qū)域發(fā)展時(shí)，，管治的理念提供了一個(gè)較為完備的理論框架。管治的研究與其他關(guān)于政府的研究不同，它強(qiáng)調(diào)政府與市民社會(huì)以及市場(chǎng)的互動(dòng)關(guān)系，探討政府角色的定位和市民社會(huì)的責(zé)任，構(gòu)建和諧社會(huì)。本文綜述十余年來(lái)內(nèi)地以及港澳人文地理學(xué)者的主要研究成果，適當(dāng)結(jié)合國(guó)內(nèi)其他社會(huì)學(xué)科的有關(guān)研究，回顧管治研究的發(fā)展，追蹤其前沿，以期對(duì)我國(guó)管治研究做一個(gè)較為全面的梳理。首先回顧自上個(gè)世紀(jì)九十年代末管治研究被引

作者簡(jiǎn)介：胡燕（1969—），女，湖南桃江人，博士，講師，碩士生導(dǎo)師，主要研究方向?yàn)槿宋牡乩韺W(xué)及城市規(guī)劃理論。

入我國(guó)人文地理學(xué)界以來(lái)，其興起和進(jìn)展兩個(gè)階段的主要研究成果與貢獻(xiàn)以及存在問(wèn)題。文章接著圍繞尺度的概念，對(duì)當(dāng)下各相關(guān)學(xué)科在管治領(lǐng)域的研究做了橫向比較，指出人文地理學(xué)在管治研究中從尺度切入的優(yōu)勢(shì)。進(jìn)一步地，文章介紹了管治研究的一個(gè)新探索—協(xié)作管治。文章指出，無(wú)論是城市還是區(qū)域尺度，地理學(xué)界對(duì)于“管治”的研究可以繼續(xù)有所貢獻(xiàn)。
