【摘要】：正近幾年,到白羊溝自然風(fēng)景區(qū)看古城墻的游客很多,既有登山愛好者,也不乏對邊塞險要城墻感興趣之人。我少年時曾經(jīng)幾次登上白羊城,那時的城墻又高又長又險。如今的白羊城墻早已面目全非了。曾有古人談?wù)撨^居庸關(guān)南口城的重要地理位置:"北方有事,南口必先受兵。"白羊城距南口城僅有20華里,像南口城那樣可以通向關(guān)外(口外),恰如南口城的旁門,是僅次于居庸關(guān)的重要隘口。白羊城位于白羊溝山口,以西層巒疊嶂,以東則一馬平川。隨山就勢船形城老人們說,明朝時建筑白羊城是為了防備韃子侵?jǐn)_。我查閱過有關(guān)資料:元代白羊口千戶所在昌平縣東口置
