[Abstract]:On 28 October, the legal Affairs Office of the State Council solicited public opinions on the "measures for the Administration of the Local offices of Press Units". According to the regulations, the local offices of public information units shall not set up branches without authorization and may not employ staff members privately.Party and government organs may not be located, and party and government officials may not work part-time in local offices of press units.At the same time, news units shall not assign operating income-generating targets to the local agencies' purchasing and editing departments or staff, apportion business tasks and collect management fees.Local channels are engaged in news gathering and editing, and must be strictly carried out.
