[Abstract]:The painting book of the mantra of the Tauroni Sutra unearthed in the Tang Tomb M17 in the southern suburb of Fengxiang County, Shaanxi Province, the main content of which is the popular Tang Dynasty, "Buddha said to be at ease with the request of the Tauroni God mantra". The images of the mantra center and its surroundings play an important role in understanding the composition of the truthfulness of the Tantra in the Tang Dynasty. This paper makes a simple comparative analysis of the images involved in the sutra mantra and holds that the image of the center of the sutra is a sharp warrior in armour with a tiger's head crown. The image of this kind of tiger crown originated in the West and merged with the thoughts of The Demi-Gods & Semi-Devils in Buddhism to the east. After entering the Middle Earth, after several changes and transformations, it became the image of Vishamen King with the power of "protecting the country, protecting the religion and protecting the city". The appearance of this image coincides with the background of Fengxiang cemetery. The combination patterns of Buddhist handprints and flower lines around the mantra, as well as the structure-surround composition of the mandala, constitute a relatively complete form of expression of the tantric mandala. In addition, the conjuring of Fengxiang sutras may be related to the death of the graveyard.
