[Abstract]:The predecessor of the institute is the National Dunhuang Institute of Art, which was established in 1944. It was renamed the Dunhuang Institute of Cultural relics in 1950 and expanded to the Dunhuang Institute on 1984. The current president is Fan Jinshi. The Institute has more than 20 functional departments.
