美國的消防員紀(jì)念碑

【摘要】：在美國,消防員享有崇高的社會地位,英勇殉職的消防員更是受到了全社會的崇敬和懷念。1981年,在美國國家消防學(xué)院的校園內(nèi)建立了全國殉職消防員紀(jì)念碑;1990年,國會立法將全國殉職消防員紀(jì)念園納入國家紀(jì)念地;1992年,國會立法授權(quán)成立全國殉職消防員基金會;2001年"9·11"事件后,國會參、眾兩院通過聯(lián)合決議案,規(guī)定在每年的全國殉職消防員紀(jì)念日(10月第一個星期日),所有聯(lián)邦建筑降半旗致哀。在美國的很多城鎮(zhèn),也都矗立著莊嚴(yán)肅穆的消防員紀(jì)念碑、栩栩如生的消防員紀(jì)念雕塑,無聲地述說著對消防員奉獻(xiàn)犧牲精神的深深敬意。
[Abstract]:In the United States, firefighters enjoy lofty social status, and firefighters who died bravely in the line of duty have been revered and remembered by the whole society. In 1981, a national monument to firefighters killed in the line of duty was established on the campus of the National Fire Academy of the United States. In 1990, Congress legislated to incorporate the National Memorial Park of firefighters in the line of duty into the National Memorial, and in 1992, Congress authorized the establishment of the National Foundation for Martyrs in the line of duty. After the September 11 incident in 2001, Congress and the House of Representatives passed a joint resolution requiring all federal buildings to fly flags at half speed on the National Day of Martyrs in the line of duty (the first Sunday of October). In many towns in the United States, there are also solemn firefighters monuments, lifelike firefighters memorial sculptures, silent statements of deep respect for the dedication and sacrifice of firefighters.
