伯克同一理論視角下的2012年—2015年美國(guó)國(guó)情咨文探析

【摘要】:美國(guó)國(guó)情咨文是美國(guó)總統(tǒng)每年在國(guó)會(huì)大廈發(fā)表的政府工作報(bào)告,主要闡明美國(guó)總統(tǒng)每年面臨的國(guó)內(nèi)外情況,以及政府將要采取的政策措施。美國(guó)國(guó)情咨文是總統(tǒng)獲得國(guó)會(huì)和民眾支持的重要途徑,因此,它的語(yǔ)言極富策略性和技巧性,值得我們關(guān)注。然而,對(duì)于美國(guó)國(guó)情咨文,僅有一些學(xué)者從系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)、批評(píng)話語(yǔ)分析和認(rèn)知語(yǔ)言學(xué)的角度進(jìn)行了一定的研究。但在修辭學(xué)領(lǐng)域并未受到應(yīng)有的重視。因此,本文試圖以肯尼斯·伯克新修辭學(xué)理論的核心部分——同一理論為基礎(chǔ),對(duì)美國(guó)國(guó)情咨文進(jìn)行系統(tǒng)性的分析和研究。本文將在肯尼斯·伯克同一理論的基礎(chǔ)上,對(duì)美國(guó)2012年—2015年的國(guó)情咨文進(jìn)行解讀。旨在通過(guò)從內(nèi)容同一和形式同一兩個(gè)方面對(duì)美國(guó)國(guó)情咨文中所體現(xiàn)的同一策略進(jìn)行統(tǒng)計(jì)分析,以便更好地探討伯克的這些認(rèn)同策略在國(guó)情咨文中是如何使奧巴馬和受眾達(dá)到同一,進(jìn)而說(shuō)服聽(tīng)眾接受并贊同他的政治主張的。通過(guò)本文的研究發(fā)現(xiàn),奧巴馬在國(guó)情咨文演講中善于運(yùn)用同一修辭策略來(lái)跨越和聽(tīng)眾間的分歧,進(jìn)而誘發(fā)合作,極具感染力和說(shuō)服力。為了達(dá)到和聽(tīng)眾同一的效果,在修辭內(nèi)容上奧巴馬主要采用了同情同一、對(duì)立同一、誤同三種認(rèn)同策略;修辭形式上主要有規(guī)約形式、前進(jìn)形式、重復(fù)形式、修辭格形式等四種認(rèn)同策略。通過(guò)分析發(fā)現(xiàn),其中誤同策略和修辭格形式策略是國(guó)情咨文中運(yùn)用最多的策略。誤同策略主要是指奧巴馬通過(guò)使用第一人稱(chēng)復(fù)數(shù)和中值情態(tài)動(dòng)詞以縮短自己和受眾的距離,在不知不覺(jué)中達(dá)成同一。而修辭格形式同一策略指奧巴馬在形式上通常使用排比、重復(fù)和對(duì)比來(lái)吸引聽(tīng)眾。以新修辭學(xué)中的同一理論為基礎(chǔ)來(lái)分析研究美國(guó)的國(guó)情咨文,不僅擴(kuò)展了同一理論的運(yùn)用范圍,同時(shí)為美國(guó)國(guó)情咨文的解讀提供了不同的方法,對(duì)今后政治演講語(yǔ)篇的分析解讀具有一定的指導(dǎo)作用。
[Abstract]:The State of the Union address is a government work report issued by the President of the United States in the Capitol every year. It mainly states the domestic and foreign situation faced by the president of the United States every year and the policy measures to be taken by the government. The State of the Union address is an important way for the President to win the support of Congress and the public. However, for the State of the Union address of the United States, only some scholars have made some research from the perspectives of systemic functional linguistics, critical discourse analysis and cognitive linguistics. However, it has not received due attention in the field of rhetoric. Therefore, this paper attempts to systematically analyze and study the State of the Union address based on the same theory, the core of Kenneth Burke's new rhetoric theory. Based on the same theory of Kenneth Burke, this paper interprets the 2012-2015 State of the Union address. The aim is to make a statistical analysis of the same strategy embodied in the State of the Union address from two aspects of the same content and the same form. In order to better explore how Burke's identity strategy in the State of the Union address is to align Obama with the audience, and thus persuade the audience to accept and agree with his political views. Through the study of this paper, it is found that Obama is good at using the same rhetorical strategy in his State of the Union address to cross the differences between the audience and the audience, thus inducing cooperation, which is very infectious and persuasive. In order to achieve the same effect with the audience, Obama mainly adopts three kinds of identification strategies in rhetorical content: sympathy, opposition, mistake and identity. There are four identification strategies in rhetorical form. Through analysis, it is found that mismatch strategy and rhetorical form strategy are the most used strategies in the State of the Union address. The mismatch strategy mainly refers to Obama's imperceptible identity by using first person plural and median modal verbs to shorten the distance between himself and his audience. The rhetorical form of the same strategy refers to Obama's formal use of parallelism, repetition and contrast to attract listeners. On the basis of the same theory in the new rhetoric, the analysis and study of the State of the Union address in the United States not only expand the scope of application of the same theory, but also provide different methods for the interpretation of the State of the Union address in the United States. The analysis and interpretation of the political speech discourse in the future will be helpful to some extent.
