《時(shí)代》周刊封面的建構(gòu)(2000-2009)

【摘要】:媒體內(nèi)容并不純粹是現(xiàn)實(shí)世界的反映,而是對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)社會(huì)環(huán)境的一種有選擇性的重現(xiàn)。影響這一選擇的因素是多樣的,既有當(dāng)時(shí)社會(huì)環(huán)境的影響,也有媒體自身所處的媒介環(huán)境等因素的制約。 本文采用定量分析與定性分析相結(jié)合的研究方法,通過(guò)對(duì)《時(shí)代》周刊2000年—2009年共計(jì)533個(gè)封面報(bào)道的分析,重點(diǎn)探討了在西方社會(huì)環(huán)境下媒體內(nèi)容與社會(huì)變革、媒介環(huán)境和媒體定位的關(guān)系。通過(guò)對(duì)《時(shí)代》女性封面的分析可以發(fā)現(xiàn)《時(shí)代》封面關(guān)于女性的報(bào)道數(shù)量在增加,但是報(bào)道領(lǐng)域受到局限,報(bào)道手法上仍然存在著歧視;《時(shí)代》封面有關(guān)中國(guó)的報(bào)道在經(jīng)歷親蔣反共等時(shí)期之后,進(jìn)入新世紀(jì)基本上處于零星出現(xiàn)的狀態(tài),并且報(bào)道手法也逐漸趨向客觀,但仍存在著曲解和懷疑,這和西方媒體一貫殘留的冷戰(zhàn)思維不無(wú)關(guān)系;《時(shí)代》對(duì)伊拉克戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)和阿富汗戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的封面報(bào)道中明顯體現(xiàn)出國(guó)家利益的制約作用。在戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的狀態(tài)下,尤其是在911事件發(fā)生以后后,美國(guó)媒體無(wú)一例外的成為政治軍事的喉舌。負(fù)面報(bào)道是這一時(shí)期《時(shí)代》有關(guān)伊斯蘭國(guó)家報(bào)道的主流。從1928年《時(shí)代》第一個(gè)年度封面人物的出現(xiàn)至今,《時(shí)代》年度人物也出現(xiàn)了很多新的特點(diǎn),例如隨著《時(shí)代》意識(shí)到歷史不再是單個(gè)人的歷史,越來(lái)越多的群體年度人物開始出現(xiàn),并且年度人物的年齡也趨向于年輕化。綜合起來(lái)可以發(fā)現(xiàn),《時(shí)代》周刊的封面報(bào)道受到當(dāng)時(shí)政治、經(jīng)濟(jì),社會(huì)環(huán)境以及媒體自身環(huán)境等的影響,這些因素共同制約了《時(shí)代》周刊封面的選擇和各類形象的建構(gòu)。 本文的意義在于,首先系統(tǒng)的對(duì)《時(shí)代》周刊封面報(bào)道描繪的社會(huì)各方面做了細(xì)致的分析,有助于從整體上把握《時(shí)代》的內(nèi)容;其次,通過(guò)具體封面類別的分析進(jìn)一步加深對(duì)《時(shí)代》封面內(nèi)容選擇的原因解讀,以前對(duì)《時(shí)代》周刊封面的分析大部分是涉及某一具體事件,缺少整體上的歸納總結(jié),本文以新世紀(jì)第一個(gè)十年《時(shí)代》封面為研究對(duì)象,分別建構(gòu)各個(gè)類別進(jìn)行分析,從總體上把握影響《時(shí)代》內(nèi)容的各個(gè)因素;最后,對(duì)制約《時(shí)代》封面內(nèi)容的因素進(jìn)行總結(jié),社會(huì)環(huán)境、國(guó)家利益、媒體自身定位等等多重因素共同塑造了《時(shí)代》豐富多彩的封面內(nèi)容。
[Abstract]:Media content is not purely a reflection of the real world, but a selective reappearance of the real social environment. The factors that affect this choice are various and have the influence of the social environment at that time. There are also media itself in the media environment and other factors constraints. This paper adopts the method of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis to analyze a total of 533 cover reports of time magazine from 2000 to 2009. It focuses on the media content and social change in the western social environment. The relationship between media environment and media orientation. Through the analysis of the female cover of "time", we can find that the number of women coverage on the cover of "time" is increasing, but the field of reporting is limited. There is still discrimination in reporting techniques; After going through the period of pro-Chiang Kai-shek and anti-Communist, the cover of "time" report on China is basically in a state of sporadic appearance in the new century, and the reporting techniques have gradually tended to be objective, but there are still misinterpretations and doubts. This has something to do with the Cold War mentality that has always remained in the Western media; Time's cover coverage of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan clearly reflects the constraining role of national interests. In the state of war, especially after 9 / 11. The American media have become the mouthpiece of political and military affairs without exception. Negative reports have been the mainstream of the coverage of the Islamic countries during this period. Since 1928, the first cover character of the year has appeared. Time of the year also appeared a lot of new features, for example, as time realized that history is no longer the history of a single person, more and more groups of annual figures began to appear. And the age of the person of the year also tends to be younger. Taken together, it can be found that the cover of time magazine was influenced by the political, economic, social and media environment of that time. These factors restrict the choice of time magazine cover and the construction of all kinds of images. The significance of this paper is that, first of all, a systematic analysis of all aspects of the society described by the cover report of time Weekly is helpful to grasp the content of "time" as a whole; Secondly, through the specific cover category analysis to further deepen the "time" cover content choice reason interpretation, in the past to the "time" magazine cover analysis is mostly related to a specific event. Lack of overall summary, this paper takes the cover of the first decade of the new century as the research object, constructs each category to carry on the analysis separately, grasps each factor which affects the content of "the time" from the overall; Finally, the factors that restrict the cover content of time are summarized. The social environment, the national interest, the orientation of the media and so on have shaped the rich and colorful cover content of the time together.
