Abstract: To improve crop productivity, it is important to control weeds in the fields during plant growth. Facts have proved
that the cultivation of transgenic crops with herbicide tolerance is an effective measure to reduce the production cost and to increase the
output compared to conventional methods. This article aims to review the principle, application and safety of transgenic plants with
herbicide tolerance in the world. Furthermore, the prospect of transgenic crops with herbicide tolerance was forecasted.
