【摘要】：針對(duì)超標(biāo)量處理器中長(zhǎng)延時(shí)的指令長(zhǎng)時(shí)占用重排序緩存的頂端引起流水線退休緩慢的問(wèn)題,提出了一種將無(wú)異常風(fēng)險(xiǎn)的指令快速退休并將運(yùn)算結(jié)果亂序回寫(xiě)的高效退休機(jī)制。該方案將結(jié)果緩存器與重排序緩存分離,其中結(jié)果緩存器作為運(yùn)算結(jié)果回寫(xiě)的緩存器,重排序緩存負(fù)責(zé)指令按序退休與精確異常的維護(hù)。重排序緩存單元在確認(rèn)指令不會(huì)發(fā)生異常后,將指令從重排序緩存中快速退休,結(jié)果緩存器繼續(xù)等待結(jié)果并進(jìn)行亂序回寫(xiě)。實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)果表明,在硬件資源相同的情況下,通過(guò)提高重排序緩存器的使用效率,基于該方案的處理器相比于傳統(tǒng)的按序退休處理器的性能平均提高33%。
[Abstract]:For long delay instructions in superscalar processors occupying the top of the resort cache causes the problem of slow pipeline retirement. In this paper, an efficient retirement mechanism is proposed, in which the instruction with no abnormal risk can be retired quickly and the results are scrambled back. This scheme separates the result cache from the resort cache. The result buffer acts as the buffer for the write back of the operation results, and the resort cache is responsible for the maintenance of the order retirement and the accurate exception. The resort cache unit verifies that no exception will occur in the instruction. The instruction is retired quickly from the resort cache, and the result buffer continues to wait for the result and write back in disorder. The experimental results show that, under the same hardware resources, the efficiency of the resort buffer can be improved. The performance of the processor based on this scheme is 33% higher than that of the traditional sequential retirement processor.
