基于熱極化多模光纖的光開關(guān)研究

【摘要】:石英玻璃材料在結(jié)構(gòu)上具有宏觀反演對稱性,不具有二階非線性光學(xué)效應(yīng),而熱極化技術(shù)可以打破這種結(jié)構(gòu)的對稱性,誘導(dǎo)出可觀的二階非線性。本文研究了雙孔多模光纖的熱極化并設(shè)計(jì)實(shí)現(xiàn)了基于熱極化多模光纖的單模—多!獑文(SMS)光開關(guān)。對于雙孔多模光纖的熱極化,研究結(jié)果表明,在多模光纖中,雙陽極結(jié)構(gòu)的熱極化光纖相對于單陽極—單陰極結(jié)構(gòu)具有更高的二階非線性效應(yīng)。無論是雙陽極結(jié)構(gòu)還是單陽極—單陰極結(jié)構(gòu),隨著極化時(shí)間的增大,模式的有效折射率差都是先增大后減小且有峰值出現(xiàn)。在相同極化時(shí)間下,模式有效折射率差隨纖芯半徑和纖芯與陽極之間距離的增大而減小。熱極化光纖的纖芯半徑越小,陽極與纖芯之間的距離越小,有效折射率差出現(xiàn)最大值的極化時(shí)間越小且極值越大;诙S載流子漂移擴(kuò)散模型,結(jié)合熱極化后電場在光纖橫截面上的分布,得到了熱極化后光纖橫截面上折射率變化,設(shè)計(jì)了基于熱極化多模光纖的單模—多!獑文(SMS)光開關(guān)。研究結(jié)果表明,入射波的傳輸損耗隨陽極與纖芯之間距離或纖芯半徑的增大而減小,延長熱極化多模光纖的長度和降低纖芯和陽極之間距離可以降低開關(guān)電壓,耗盡層完全覆蓋纖芯比耗盡層未覆蓋纖芯時(shí)所需要的開關(guān)電壓要小。本文研究的多模光纖熱極化和基于熱極化多模光纖單!嗄!獑文(SMS)光開關(guān)對光纖熱極化實(shí)驗(yàn)和熱極化光纖在全光纖器件的應(yīng)用方面有重要的指導(dǎo)意義。
[Abstract]:Quartz glass material has macroscopic inversion symmetry and no second-order nonlinear optical effect. Thermal polarization technique can break the symmetry of the structure and induce considerable second-order nonlinearity. In this paper, the thermal polarization of two-hole multimode optical fiber is studied and the single-mode, multi-mode single-mode SMS-based optical switch based on thermal polarization multimode fiber is designed and implemented. For the thermal polarization of two-hole multimode fiber, the results show that the two-anode structure has a higher second-order nonlinear effect than the single-anode single-cathode structure in the multi-mode fiber. With the increase of polarization time, the effective refractive index difference of the mode increases first and then decreases with the increase of polarization time. At the same polarization time, the effective refractive index difference decreases with the increase of core radius and the distance between core and anode. The smaller the core radius, the smaller the distance between the anode and the core, and the smaller the polarization time and the maximum value of the effective refractive index difference. Based on the two-dimensional carrier drift diffusion model and the distribution of the electric field in the cross-section of the fiber after thermal polarization, the refractive index changes on the cross-section of the fiber after thermal polarization are obtained. A single mode multimode single mode SMS optical switch based on thermal polarization multimode fiber is designed. The results show that the transmission loss of incident wave decreases with the increase of the distance between the anode and the core or the radius of the core, and the switching voltage can be reduced by increasing the length of the thermally polarized multimode fiber and decreasing the distance between the core and the anode. When the depletion layer is not covered with the core, the switching voltage is lower than that with the depletion layer. In this paper, the thermal polarization of multi-mode fiber and the single-mode SMS-based optical switch based on thermally polarized multimode fiber have important guiding significance for the experiment of optical fiber thermal polarization and the application of thermal polarization fiber in all optical fiber devices.
