【摘要】:隨著集成電路的發(fā)展,低功耗已成為IC設(shè)計(jì)的考慮重點(diǎn)。系統(tǒng)功耗主要分為動(dòng)態(tài)功耗與靜態(tài)功耗,其中動(dòng)態(tài)功耗在當(dāng)前工藝下占主要地位。為了解決IC設(shè)計(jì)中的動(dòng)態(tài)功耗問題,國內(nèi)外已進(jìn)行大量的相關(guān)研究。然而,隨著多核SoC系統(tǒng)的發(fā)展,系統(tǒng)在展現(xiàn)其多核優(yōu)勢的同時(shí),新的功耗問題也隨之出現(xiàn)。由于SoC系統(tǒng)多任務(wù)并發(fā)性使得總線和主存等共享資源的競爭日趨頻繁,競爭導(dǎo)致任務(wù)等待,進(jìn)而產(chǎn)生不必要的功耗損失。因此,如何在滿足系統(tǒng)的峰值功耗需求時(shí)減少資源沖突帶來的功耗損失已成為系統(tǒng)級時(shí)鐘管理的挑戰(zhàn)。 本文提出一種SoC系統(tǒng)級時(shí)鐘調(diào)度管理技術(shù),在不影響系統(tǒng)性能的前提下,根據(jù)各計(jì)算單元在共享資源上的競爭概率,計(jì)算得出各單元由于競爭沖突導(dǎo)致的等待時(shí)間,進(jìn)而在已知任務(wù)截止時(shí)間的前提下,分析得出各個(gè)任務(wù)的實(shí)際有效工作時(shí)間,通過軟件調(diào)配各計(jì)算單元的時(shí)鐘頻率來調(diào)度共享資源的訪問,實(shí)現(xiàn)系統(tǒng)在滿足峰值功率約束下的總功耗最優(yōu)化。 本課題在杭州中天微系統(tǒng)有限公司的SoC系統(tǒng)平臺(tái)上搭建實(shí)驗(yàn)平臺(tái)系統(tǒng),并結(jié)合Matlab工具進(jìn)行優(yōu)化計(jì)算,同時(shí)采用Power Compiler工具對優(yōu)化后的結(jié)果進(jìn)行功耗分析并總結(jié)實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)論。實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)果證明該技術(shù)可以降低3.3%-38.2%的SoC系統(tǒng)總功耗,對于面向共享資源沖突的SoC系統(tǒng)的時(shí)鐘調(diào)度有著實(shí)際指導(dǎo)意義。
[Abstract]:With the development of integrated circuits, low power consumption has become the focus of IC design. Considering the power consumption of the system is mainly divided into dynamic and static power consumption, the dynamic power consumption occupies the main position in the current process. In order to solve the problem of dynamic power in the design of IC, the domestic and foreign related research has been conducted in large quantities. However, with the development of multi-core the SoC system, the system to show its nuclear power advantage at the same time, new problems also arise. Due to concurrent multi task SoC system allows the bus and memory to share resources is becoming increasingly frequent, competition leads to tasks waiting, resulting in unnecessary loss of power. Therefore, how to reduce the power loss caused by the conflict of resources to meet the demand of the peak power system has become the system clock management challenges.
This paper presents a SoC system clock scheduling management technology, without affecting the performance of the system, according to the calculation unit in the shared resources on the competition probability, calculated each unit due to competition conflict caused by the waiting time, and then in the known deadline on the premise of analyzing the tasks of practical and effective work through the software deployment time, clock frequency of each calculation unit for scheduling access to shared resources, realize the system to meet the total power consumption optimization under the peak power constraint.
This topic in Hangzhou Zhongtian micro SoC System Platform System Co. Ltd. to build experimental platform system, and optimize the calculation combined with the Matlab tool, and power analysis of the optimized results and summarize the experimental results using the Power Compiler tool. The experimental results prove that this technology can reduce the power consumption of the SoC 3.3%-38.2% system, has practical significance the clock of SoC dispatching system for shared resource conflicts.
