【摘要】：隨著經濟、科技和交通的快速發(fā)展,跨文化的各項交流也逐漸增多,不同文化背景的人們之間的有效溝通顯得尤為重要。沉默,作為會話中常見的現(xiàn)象,也越來越受到人們的關注。關于沉默的研究,從最開始的認為沉默是完全消極的反應,到后來逐漸認可其積極的一面,再到現(xiàn)在將之與跨文化交際相聯(lián)系。雖然人們對于沉默的關注度越來越高,并注意到了在跨文化交際中理解沉默含義的重要性,卻并未有人將兩種語言對話中沉默的使用作比較,而本文就是從這點出發(fā)。由于關聯(lián)理論的研究對象包括顯性與隱性交際,而沉默是典型的隱性交際,因此,關聯(lián)理論能更好地解釋話輪沉默。所以本文選擇運用關聯(lián)理論來分析中英會話中的沉默,以比較兩種語言中沉默的使用情況。本文主要研究兩部中英文電視劇的對白中的沉默。為了確保語料的標準性、口語性以及可比性,本文選取了兩部題材相似、很受歡迎的電視劇,并分別從等長的時間段中記錄下所有的沉默作為研究對象。首先,對沉默的類型、時長進行統(tǒng)計,再從關聯(lián)理論的角度出發(fā),從沉默的交際功能、語境及交際雙方的關系幾個方面對語料進行分析,之后再比較結果。并且,作者還分別從傳統(tǒng)文化,價值觀,以及諸如年齡、性別等方面討論了影響兩種語言中沉默使用的因素。通過以上分析,本文得出以下結論:在中英語會話中,人們都會使用沉默,中文會話中的沉默稍多,并以話輪內沉默更甚;中文會話中的沉默更多伴隨肢體語言,并表達積極交際功能,英文會話中的沉默相反;理解中文會話中的沉默需要更多努力及更大語境,交際雙方關系也會影響沉默的使用。本文可幫助指導跨文化交際,以及解決誤解,并且有助于指導以英語為第二外語習得者的學習。
[Abstract]:With the rapid development of economy, science and technology and transportation, the cross-cultural communication is gradually increasing, and the effective communication between people from different cultural backgrounds is particularly important. Silence, as a common phenomenon in conversation, has attracted more and more attention. In the study of silence, from the initial view that silence is a completely negative response, to the gradual recognition of its positive side, and then to its association with intercultural communication. Although people pay more and more attention to silence and pay attention to the importance of understanding the meaning of silence in cross-cultural communication, there is no comparison of the use of silence in the dialogue between two languages. As the objects of relevance theory include explicit and implicit communication, silence is a typical implicit communication, so relevance theory can better explain the turn of silence. Therefore, this paper uses relevance theory to analyze the silence in Chinese and English conversation to compare the use of silence between the two languages. This paper mainly studies the silences in the dialogue between Chinese and English TV dramas. In order to ensure the standard, colloquial and comparability of the corpus, this paper selects two popular TV dramas with similar themes, and records all the silences from the same length of time as the object of study. Firstly, the types and duration of silence are analyzed, and then from the perspective of relevance theory, the corpus is analyzed from the aspects of communicative function, context and the relationship between the two parties. Then the results are compared. In addition, the author discusses the factors that influence the use of silence in both languages from the aspects of traditional culture, values, age and gender. Based on the above analysis, this paper draws the following conclusions: in Chinese-English conversation, people use silence, the silence in Chinese conversation is a little more, and the silencing in turn is even more serious, and the silence in Chinese conversation is more accompanied by body language. It also expresses the positive communicative function, the silence in the English conversation is the opposite, and the understanding of the silence in the Chinese conversation requires more effort and greater context, and the relationship between the two sides of the communication will also affect the use of silence. This paper can help guide cross-cultural communication, solve misunderstandings, and guide the learning of English as a second language learner.
