本次翻譯實(shí)踐為英譯漢。原文選自谷歌地圖前營銷總監(jiān)比爾.基爾迪（Bill Kilday）所著的《不再迷路:谷歌地圖升級催生新產(chǎn)業(yè)并豐富現(xiàn)實(shí)生活》（Never Lost Again:The Google Mapping Revolution That Sparked New Industries and Augmented Our Reality）,由哈珀商業(yè)出版社于2018年5月出版。本書按時(shí)間順序主要講述了谷歌地圖的形成、發(fā)展及未來升級方向。所譯內(nèi)容節(jié)選自前四章,約一萬七千字。主要講述鎖眼衛(wèi)星公司（Keyhole）在2004年被谷歌公司收購之前,如何在其創(chuàng)始人約翰.漢克（John Hanke）的經(jīng)營管理下掙扎求生,研發(fā)并推廣谷歌地圖的前身“地球之眼”（Earthviewer）軟件,亦從側(cè)面呈現(xiàn)21世紀(jì)初電子繪圖技術(shù)的相關(guān)境況。文章探索電子地圖科技,對我國電子地圖的創(chuàng)新升級提供借鑒意義。同時(shí),這本紀(jì)實(shí)性書展現(xiàn)主人公堅(jiān)持不懈、積極樂觀的精神,這對創(chuàng)業(yè)人士尤其是互聯(lián)網(wǎng)研發(fā)者或軟件開發(fā)商具有激勵(lì)啟發(fā)作用,因而該書具有社會(huì)研究價(jià)值。譯者翻譯此書,旨在達(dá)成一個(gè)忠實(shí)原文,流暢自然的譯文,同時(shí)將翻譯理...
