“道德敘事關懷”:從利維斯到夏志清——論《中國現(xiàn)代小說史》的西學淵源

【摘要】：夏志清在學脈上雖師承"新批評",但其《中國現(xiàn)代小說史》卻更受劍橋大批評家利維斯的影響。夏著以"道德細查""非功利化""主題處理"所合成的"道德敘事關懷",與利維斯提出的"道德關懷""非個人化""有致融合"三個批評準則確呈環(huán)環(huán)相扣之勢,使其堪稱《偉大的傳統(tǒng)》的中國化文本。但同時,夏志清的三大批評原則并不如利維斯般穩(wěn)定和諧,這是因為《中國現(xiàn)代小說史》希望將史述聚焦在"主題"層面,而有意無意地放松了對"形式"的要求。
[Abstract]:Although Xia Zhiqing inherits "New criticism" in his academic background, his History of Modern Chinese novels is more influenced by the great Cambridge critic Levi. Xia's "moral narrative concern", which is composed of "moral careful examination" and "non-utilitarian" and "thematic treatment", is indeed intertwined with the three critical criteria of "moral care" and "impersonal" and "fusion" put forward by Levi. Make it the Chinese text of Great tradition. But at the same time, the three critical principles of Xia Zhiqing are not as stable and harmonious as Levi's, because the History of Modern Chinese Fiction wants to focus on the "theme" level and to relax the requirement of "form" intentionally or unintentionally.
