X-DSP中千兆以太網(wǎng)MAC控制器的設(shè)計(jì)與實(shí)現(xiàn)

【摘要】:以太網(wǎng)技術(shù)是計(jì)算機(jī)網(wǎng)絡(luò)通信中最重要的技術(shù),它經(jīng)過四十多年的發(fā)展,已經(jīng)在工業(yè)控制、通信系統(tǒng)中得到廣泛應(yīng)用。MAC控制器是以太網(wǎng)的重要設(shè)備,完成OSI模型數(shù)據(jù)鏈路層中MAC子層的功能。本文以自主研發(fā)的多核高性能數(shù)字信號處理器X-DSP為背景,設(shè)計(jì)了一個(gè)千兆以太網(wǎng)MAC控制器,為X-DSP提供了一個(gè)千兆速率的網(wǎng)絡(luò)接口。根據(jù)X-DSP的性能需求,并通過對以太網(wǎng)MAC子層的深入分析,明確了MAC控制器的功能,設(shè)計(jì)了千兆以太網(wǎng)MAC控制器總體結(jié)構(gòu),以及時(shí)鐘管理方案。采用相互獨(dú)立的數(shù)據(jù)通路與配置通路實(shí)現(xiàn)MAC控制器與上層邏輯的連接。數(shù)據(jù)通路中采用基于突發(fā)且可并行讀寫的AXI接口進(jìn)行數(shù)據(jù)傳輸,保證接收、發(fā)送數(shù)據(jù)的高效傳輸;配置通路采用簡化的AXI接口實(shí)現(xiàn)對MAC控制器中寄存器的讀寫操作。為實(shí)現(xiàn)MAC控制器10Mbps/100Mbps/1000Mbps的數(shù)據(jù)傳輸速率,設(shè)計(jì)了MII和GMII兩種類型的PHY接口;提供地址匹配、哈希表等多種地址過濾方式,采用并行的CRC-32算法用于以太網(wǎng)幀的校驗(yàn)。支持半雙工和全雙工兩種通信模式,半雙工模式下采用多路載波偵聽/沖突檢測(CSMA/CD)的傳輸機(jī)制和背壓的流量控制機(jī)制;全雙工模式下設(shè)計(jì)了基于暫停幀的流量控制方式。MAC控制器待發(fā)送、已接收數(shù)據(jù)以及相關(guān)控制信息采用兩個(gè)深度為512、位寬為133的異步FIFO進(jìn)行緩存和同步處理。按模塊級和系統(tǒng)級兩個(gè)層次,分別搭建了驗(yàn)證平臺,對MAC控制器的功能以及時(shí)序進(jìn)行了模擬驗(yàn)證。驗(yàn)證以及綜合結(jié)果表明,MAC控制器的功能正確,滿足設(shè)計(jì)要求。
[Abstract]:Ethernet technology is the most important technology in computer network communication. After more than 40 years' development, it has been widely used in industrial control and communication system. MAC controller is an important device of Ethernet. The function of MAC sub-layer in the data link layer of OSI model is completed. In this paper, a gigabit Ethernet MAC controller is designed based on the multi-core high-performance digital signal processor (X-DSP), which provides a gigabit rate network interface for X-DSP. According to the performance requirement of X-DSP and the analysis of Ethernet MAC sublayer, the function of MAC controller is clarified, and the overall structure of MAC controller of Gigabit Ethernet and the clock management scheme are designed. An independent data path and configuration path are used to realize the connection between the MAC controller and the upper layer logic. The data path adopts AXI interface based on burst and can read and write in parallel to ensure the efficient transmission of receiving and transmitting data. The configuration path uses simplified AXI interface to realize the read and write operation of registers in MAC controller. In order to realize the data transmission rate of MAC controller 10Mbps/100Mbps/1000Mbps, two types of PHY interfaces, MII and GMII, are designed, and a variety of address filtering methods, such as address matching and hash table, are provided. The parallel CRC-32 algorithm is used to verify the Ethernet frame. The half-duplex and full-duplex communication modes are supported. In the half-duplex mode, the transmission mechanism of multi-channel carrier listening / collision detection (CSMA/CD) and the flow control mechanism of back pressure are adopted. In full duplex mode, the flow control mode based on pause frame is designed. The MAC controller is to be sent, the received data and related control information are cached and processed synchronously by two asynchronous FIFO with depth of 512 and bit width of 133. According to the two levels of module level and system level, the verification platform is built, and the function and timing of MAC controller are simulated and verified. The results of verification and synthesis show that the function of MAC controller is correct and meets the design requirements.
