[Abstract]:Gansu is an important birthplace of the Yellow River civilization. The Neolithic culture in Gansu is characterized by rich colored pottery. The earliest colored pottery in China was discovered about 8,000 years ago. It has lasted for more than 5,000 years through Yangshao, Majiayao, Qijia, Siba, Xindian and Shajing cultures.
