【摘要】：從1895年至1945年,日本殖民統(tǒng)治臺灣半個世紀(jì)。為了鞏固在臺灣的殖民統(tǒng)治,從思想上控制臺灣人民,日本帝國主義建立了一套嚴(yán)苛的新聞法律制度,經(jīng)歷了以言論統(tǒng)制為中心(1895～1919)的初期、以宣傳安撫為重點(1919～1937)的中期和以新聞統(tǒng)合為主體(1937～1945)的后期三個階段。這些法律法規(guī)的頒布,客觀上推動了臺灣地區(qū)新聞法制的近代化進程,但本質(zhì)上都是殖民統(tǒng)治的產(chǎn)物。
