賽珍珠中國農(nóng)村題材小說的“土地主題”研究

【摘要】:美國女作家賽珍珠的中國農(nóng)村題材作品豐富多彩,直到今天仍有強大的藝術(shù)感染力和文化生命力,具有研究的當(dāng)代性價值。其作品中“土地意象”的多重展示,以及寓于其中的中國“農(nóng)民和土地”主題,和諧地構(gòu)成了一個獨具特色的文本世界。 面對賽珍珠中國題材作品的浩莽渾然,本文無法作全景式把握,而僅把注意力集中在賽珍珠幾部主要的中國農(nóng)村題材作品中,包括《大地三部曲》、《母親》、《龍子》和《同胞》。本文擬在已有研究成果的基礎(chǔ)上,從賽珍珠“文化邊緣人”視野中的“土地意象”入手,對賽珍珠的主要中國農(nóng)村題材作品進行“土地主題”的歸納和文本解讀。本文試圖剖析:身為“文化邊緣人”的賽珍珠在跨國界的生活、跨文化的創(chuàng)作中,心系中國土地和農(nóng)民,以人類的理性指引小說創(chuàng)作,把個人對中國人和中國文化的理解凝聚在“人與土地的關(guān)系”這一中心話語上,進而再現(xiàn)了中華民族在農(nóng)耕文明時代對土地的深切眷戀。當(dāng)作家觸摸“人與土地”這一古老的文化命題時,已經(jīng)超越了僅僅針對目標讀者群——西方讀者這一局限,進而對不同民族的“土地情結(jié)”進行了聯(lián)系性思考。當(dāng)創(chuàng)作激情催發(fā)為創(chuàng)作,即展示了中國農(nóng)村題材小說所具有的世界性品質(zhì)——身為“異鄉(xiāng)人”、“文化邊緣人”的作家在“父國”的土地上安放自己精神家園的同時,亦站在人類共性的高度進行著她的小說創(chuàng)作。進一步說,賽珍珠作品中的“土地主題”呼應(yīng)“和諧共生”的人與人、人與世界、民族與民族之間的新型關(guān)系,與作家在創(chuàng)作中一以貫之的文化和合主義價值觀彼此印證,在當(dāng)今全球化語境中亦有標新立異的前瞻意義。因此,從“土地情結(jié)”這一主題層面考證,賽氏作品不能不說是一種文學(xué)突破或文化突破。 本論文分導(dǎo)言、正文和結(jié)語三個部分。 導(dǎo)言中,首先介紹賽珍珠的平民主義創(chuàng)作及中國情懷,提出本論文的研究主旨、研究思路及全文框架;然后循著由遠及今的思路,對國內(nèi)外賽珍珠研究的歷史與現(xiàn)狀進行總括性的歸納論述,并闡明本論文選題的學(xué)術(shù)價值和現(xiàn)實意義。第一章追溯縱向跨文化時空中的“中國形象”變遷,引入賽珍珠獨特的鄉(xiāng)土中國書寫;第二章在文本細讀的基礎(chǔ)上,通過賽珍珠中國農(nóng)村題材作品中的“土地意象”展現(xiàn),對“土地主題”進行逐層剖析和歸納;第三章以作品中的“土地情結(jié)”為契機,探索賽珍珠作品中人與人、人與外部世界的互動,從而展示中國鄉(xiāng)土社會的文化風(fēng)貌;第四章在鄉(xiāng)土文學(xué)的范疇內(nèi),將賽珍珠與同時代的中國鄉(xiāng)土作家作了橫向?qū)Ρ;第五章立足“異鄉(xiāng)人”、“文化邊緣人”的層面,剖析賽珍珠在跨越兩個世界的“土地主題”書寫中,建構(gòu)多元文化身份的積極努力,從而實現(xiàn)其文化和合主義的理想訴求。 結(jié)語部分回顧本文的主要內(nèi)容,并重申主要結(jié)論:由于“文化邊緣人”的獨具慧眼,具有普世人類學(xué)意義的“土地主題”構(gòu)成了賽珍珠“生命主題”的重中之重,從而反映了作者畢生追求的文化和合主義理念。因此,從文化和文學(xué)比較的層面來看,賽珍珠的土地主題研究具有深層的意義。結(jié)語部分還提出后續(xù)研究的設(shè)想,即賽珍珠的土地主題、平民主義創(chuàng)作觀與“文化”的原初意義和隱喻意義不謀而合;诖苏J識,筆者試圖在日后的研究實踐中,以本論文的研究成果為基礎(chǔ),在現(xiàn)當(dāng)代跨文化語境中,進一步評價賽珍珠跨國書寫及文化溝通的隱喻意義和現(xiàn)實價值。
[Abstract]:The Chinese rural theme of the American female writer's Pearl is rich and colorful, until today still has the strong artistic appeal and the cultural vitality, and has the contemporary value of the study. The multi-representation of the "land image" in his work, as well as the Chinese "Farmers and land" theme in it, constitutes a unique text world. In the introduction, the author first introduces the symbolism and Chinese feelings of the Pearl, and puts forward the research spirit, the research method and the full-text framework of the thesis, then follow the thought of the far and present, and the history and the present situation of the research on the domestic and foreign Pearl Pearl are all in an all-round way. The paper also expounds the academic value of the subject of this thesis. The first chapter traces the "Chinese image" change of the air in the longitudinal cross-culture, and introduces the unique native Chinese writing of the Pearl Pearl.
