論當代西方翻譯理論的三個層次

二戰(zhàn)后,西方翻譯理論進入了迄今其發(fā)展史上的最高峰,新的翻譯理論和翻譯理論家不斷出現(xiàn),先后出現(xiàn)了奈達的交際翻譯理論,卡特福德的語言學翻譯觀,霍姆斯的翻譯學,巴斯奈特的文化翻譯觀,勒弗維爾的文化操控論,埃文.佐哈的多元系統(tǒng)論,斯坦納的闡釋學翻譯視角,德里達的“撒播”“延異”意義觀等。每種理論都從不同視角來探討翻譯,都只揭示了翻譯活動的一個或幾個方面,未能也不可能將翻譯活動的所有方面都包括在其理論范圍之內(nèi)。 在西方譯學界,不同理論流派之間經(jīng)常會有論爭,持某一理論的學者往往會批判其它理論的種種弊端。這方面的例子是不勝枚舉的。每種翻譯理論都不可能解釋復雜的翻譯活動的方方面面,理所當然,每種理論都有其缺陷。在對其它理論進行批判時,應(yīng)該意識到：自己的理論不可能面面俱到,別人的理論也不可能就一無是處。既然當前沒有哪一個翻譯理論能夠完全涵蓋翻譯活動的所有內(nèi)容,那翻譯研究的出路和方向在哪呢? 始于迪昂的現(xiàn)代整體論思想,旨在克服近代自然科學中的以局部分析和局部證實為特征的還原論方法的弊端。由于還原論,將科學看作是簡單的、孤立分離的、還原的,因此獲得的只能是關(guān)于某一學科局部化、簡單化、分門別類的、破碎的知識。...
