順句驅(qū)動(dòng)是同聲傳譯實(shí)踐中最常用也最受重視的轉(zhuǎn)換策略和技巧,是同聲傳譯的最大特點(diǎn)。人類語言‘的相似性與形式差異性的統(tǒng)一給順句驅(qū)動(dòng)這種產(chǎn)生于同聲傳譯的翻譯方式的出現(xiàn)和應(yīng)用提供了理論上的可能性和必要性。同時(shí)其產(chǎn)生也是源于人類認(rèn)知資源的有限性這個(gè)現(xiàn)實(shí)條件,以及同聲傳譯的即時(shí)性這個(gè)現(xiàn)實(shí)需求。然而長期以來,順句驅(qū)動(dòng)或者順譯僅僅被認(rèn)為是一種翻譯技巧或策略,遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)沒有上升到理論高度,沒有形成自己完整的理論體系。而其理論體系的構(gòu)建就首先面臨翻譯單位的問題。遺憾的是,翻譯單位的概念在傳統(tǒng)翻譯理論中一直沒有明確、統(tǒng)一的表述,順句驅(qū)動(dòng)的翻譯單位在理論界更是鮮有提及。由于翻譯是以人為主體的復(fù)雜的認(rèn)知過程,因此對翻譯單位的研究如果僅僅局限在對翻譯結(jié)果的研究是不能反映其實(shí)質(zhì)的。而順句驅(qū)動(dòng)的線性的特點(diǎn),使得修改和潤色都不可能實(shí)現(xiàn)。這客觀上使對譯者認(rèn)知過程的研究成為可能。同傳是一個(gè)復(fù)雜的認(rèn)知過程,而人的認(rèn)知機(jī)制也包含很多不同的結(jié)構(gòu),包括感覺存儲(chǔ),工作記憶,編碼系統(tǒng)等等,這就使翻譯過程中會(huì)同時(shí)出現(xiàn)不同的處理單位。因此從信息處理的角度來看,順句驅(qū)動(dòng)策略下的翻譯單位不是一個(gè)簡單的可以衡量大小的單位,而是一個(gè)層次化,系統(tǒng)化的概念...
