作為商業(yè)活動中重要的環(huán)節(jié),外貿(mào)函電翻譯的準確與否直接關系到生意的成敗。根據(jù)奈達的功能對等理論,翻譯要實現(xiàn)原文和譯文的功能對等而不是單純的形式對等。賴斯的功能類型強調(diào)翻譯要采取適當?shù)牟呗砸詽M足目標文本特定目的的需要。賴斯的學生費米爾突破了對等理論的局限,創(chuàng)建了對功能翻譯理論有深刻影響的目的論,他指出翻譯方法和翻譯策略要有譯文的預期目的或功能決定。曼塔利發(fā)展了目的論,提出了更為激進的翻譯行動。所謂譯者行動是指譯者所有的行動,而不僅僅是傳統(tǒng)意義上的翻譯。諾德,繼續(xù)發(fā)揚和完善了功能翻譯理論,提出了“功能加忠誠”的理論模式。外貿(mào)函電不同于與其他文本類型,它具有自身的特征。外貿(mào)函電指的是客戶之間通過信件往來交流。它區(qū)別與面對面的交流,通過書面的方式進行交流。首先,外貿(mào)函電具有其獨特的功能特征：傳遞并保存信息；可以作為合同或協(xié)議；還可作為公司的記錄資料以備將來查閱。除了功能差異,外貿(mào)函電還擁有獨具特色的語言特征,表現(xiàn)在三個不同的層面：詞匯、句法以及語用。詞匯方面,外貿(mào)函電采用專業(yè)術語、縮略詞、正式語及古體詞等。句法方面,側(cè)重于使用長句和被動句。語用方面則要講求禮貌性、正式性等。要將功能翻譯論應用與外...
