本文從社會符號學角度,以George Carlin五篇最具代表的作品為例,對單口相聲進行話語分析。話語分析與社會符號學在整個論述過程中環(huán)環(huán)相扣:首先從單口相聲話語出發(fā),論述其中所應(yīng)用的符號系統(tǒng),然后通過梳理符號系統(tǒng)以完成單口相聲話語的六大任務(wù)構(gòu)建,再通過這六大任務(wù)的構(gòu)建回到符號學上解讀符號,即社會符號學中的解釋過程,以此實現(xiàn)對話語深層含義的理解,證明社會符號學對話語分析的可行性和指導性。以M. A. K. Halliday的?作為社會符號的語言?的論述為基礎(chǔ),本研究中話語所關(guān)注的符號系統(tǒng)包括語言符號系統(tǒng)（如語音、語法、語義系統(tǒng)）和非語言符號系統(tǒng)（情景語境和文化語境）。來自不同符號系統(tǒng)的相關(guān)符號線索聚集在一起,通過拼合這些線索,完成六大任務(wù)的構(gòu)建。話語六大任務(wù)的構(gòu)建遵從James Paul Gee的話語分析框架,包括構(gòu)建符號、世界、行為、社會文化下的身份及關(guān)系、政治及連貫。需注意的是六大任務(wù)之間并非界限分明,而是相互滲透、互相促進,如符號構(gòu)建能促進世界構(gòu)建,世界構(gòu)建又促進了身份及關(guān)系構(gòu)建。作者在分析中發(fā)現(xiàn)不同的符號系統(tǒng)對話語六大任務(wù)構(gòu)建的貢獻有偏重,同時任務(wù)構(gòu)建的類型受到話語主題和所應(yīng)用...
