科普英語(yǔ)是用通俗、生動(dòng)、易懂的語(yǔ)言向大眾宣傳和普及科學(xué)技術(shù)知識(shí),是文學(xué)和科學(xué)相結(jié)合的寫(xiě)作體裁�？破辗g應(yīng)該把科技翻譯和文學(xué)翻譯的方法結(jié)合起來(lái),既要體現(xiàn)出科學(xué)知識(shí)的準(zhǔn)確性和嚴(yán)密性,又要體現(xiàn)出通俗性和趣味性,使讀者喜聞樂(lè)見(jiàn)�？赡壳翱破沼⒄Z(yǔ)的翻譯品質(zhì)不齊,誤譯問(wèn)題比較嚴(yán)重。過(guò)去幾年里,國(guó)內(nèi)外學(xué)者開(kāi)始對(duì)科普英語(yǔ)翻譯進(jìn)行研究,然而這些研究大多偏重于譯文的準(zhǔn)確性、翻譯標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和方法,缺少較為系統(tǒng)的理論作為支撐,顯得不盡人意。鑒于此,本文從社會(huì)符號(hào)學(xué)翻譯法的角度來(lái)研究科普翻譯,以期對(duì)完善科普翻譯的理論和實(shí)踐起一定的推動(dòng)作用。作者主要討論社會(huì)符號(hào)學(xué)翻譯法在科普翻譯過(guò)程中尋求功能對(duì)等的實(shí)際應(yīng)用價(jià)值,認(rèn)為科普翻譯應(yīng)當(dāng)是語(yǔ)言間一種由微觀結(jié)構(gòu)到宏觀結(jié)構(gòu),由靜態(tài)到動(dòng)態(tài)的漸進(jìn)過(guò)程。研究?jī)?nèi)容包括：第一,社會(huì)符號(hào)學(xué)翻譯法是否具有研究科普翻譯的可行性,其具體表現(xiàn)如何。第二,從社會(huì)符號(hào)學(xué)翻譯法視角看,科普翻譯中功能對(duì)等是如何實(shí)現(xiàn)的。第三,有什么翻譯原則和翻譯方法能被用來(lái)提高譯文的正確性和可讀性。本研究選取了國(guó)內(nèi)外知名科普書(shū)和期刊作為討論范例,運(yùn)用社會(huì)符號(hào)學(xué)的翻譯標(biāo)準(zhǔn)“意義相符,功能相似”來(lái)對(duì)這些例子進(jìn)行對(duì)比分析,分別從指稱意...
