[Abstract]:Military music is an important way for western music to be introduced into China, and military music and military bands have always been an important part of the study of Chinese modern music history. However, when did the earliest military bands in modern China come into being? Academic circles have not yet decided. At present, the academic community generally holds two views on this issue: one is that the earliest military band was set up in Yuan Shikai's rehearsals of the Beiyang New Army (set up on 1899). 1. This theory is represented by the American scholar, Korean. 1. Some works of general history since then. Such as Wang Yuhe's Modern and Modern Chinese Music History, Liu Xuan's A brief description of Modern Chinese Music History, and so on. 2 the other view is that Zhang Zhidong was founded.
