     Campus activities have been organized in many universities and colleges. These activities range from academic to recreational, such as academic reports, social consulting services, speech contests, poet's club, painting clubs, singing and dancing groups, etc.

     These activities provide students with two major advantages. First of all, they play a positive role in improving students' studies. Due to their heavy schedules, students are often busy themselves with textbooks and seldom expose themselves to a colorful life. But the variety of the activities provides opportunities for them to relax themselves and enrich their minds and knowledge. In addition, the activities also serve students living in the "ivory tower" have little chance to get in touch with society. Now the activities open the door for participants to leave their classrooms and get to know society.

      All this offers an important means for students to broaden their horizons. They believe with the right kind of guidance and help campus activities will continue to grow and flourish.

      Controversy may arise when a freshman or sophomore is willing to participate in several societies or associations on the risk of academic failure or in the expense of romance and leisure time. Nevertheless, the great significance concerning a modest participation in campus groups will be fully indicated, and thus approved by those opponents strongly against it.

      The obvious benefits emerging several years after graduation might be the esprit de corps achieved through cooperation and compromise in a campus organization which commonly exist in nearly every social entity as a fundamental working mechanism. This profound comprehension in team work will not loom so large until the school-leavers get involved in a much more sophisticated system than they previously coped with. Another treasure these activities present should be the high efficiency to handle both study and after-class activities without' conflicts, which later becomes potential competitive powers in a world dominated by unceasingly evolved knowledge.

      To sum up, those underlying advantages will be ignored if you don't track down what lead you to success finally.
