【摘要】：明清以來,外國傳教士帶來了全新的地理學(xué)知識(shí),對(duì)傳統(tǒng)的"中國居世界之中"的天下觀形成了挑戰(zhàn)。但直至鴉片戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng),"中華帝國"遭遇前所未有之大變局,這些新知才被開眼看世界的士大夫再次重視。魏源編纂的《海國圖志》一書在介紹世界地理的同時(shí),也隱晦地回護(hù)了傳統(tǒng)的天下觀,反映了傳統(tǒng)士大夫接納西方新知識(shí)的曲折過程。本文即在明清西方地理學(xué)在中國的傳播、接受的背景下探索這一過程。
[Abstract]:Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, foreign missionaries brought new knowledge of geography, which challenged the traditional view of "China in the world". But until the Opium War, the Chinese Empire encountered unprecedented changes, these new knowledge was once again valued by scholars looking at the world. Wei Yuan's book "Atlas of Haiguo" introduced the world geography, but also obscurely protected the traditional view of the world, which reflected the tortuous process of accepting the new western knowledge by the traditional literati and officials. This paper explores this process in the context of the spread and acceptance of western geography in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
