本論文敘述了在加拿大多元文化主義的發(fā)展歷程中,加拿大華人為爭(zhēng)取平等采取的各種政治斗爭(zhēng)所起到的積極作用。論文的重點(diǎn)主要包括加拿大華人社團(tuán)組織的形成,社團(tuán)組織怎樣帶領(lǐng)華人社會(huì)應(yīng)對(duì)來自白人主流社會(huì)的各種歧視,加拿大華人的政治斗爭(zhēng)在移民政策變化及多元文化社會(huì)形成中所起到的歷史作用,以及加拿大多元文化政策實(shí)施后華人社會(huì)的變化。一方面,戰(zhàn)后加拿大國(guó)內(nèi)經(jīng)濟(jì)的需要以及國(guó)際環(huán)境的變化使得加拿大政府的移民政策從“白加”政策逐漸演變?yōu)槎嘣幕髁x政策。另一方面,華人在加拿大的政治平等及文化統(tǒng)一與華人社會(huì)堅(jiān)持反對(duì)種族主義的斗爭(zhēng)及戰(zhàn)后華人新移民的特征密切相關(guān)。
