[Abstract]:Since the 1950s, a new term "Jewish-Christian tradition" has emerged in the United States, which is mainly used by Americans to distinguish themselves from Europe and to highlight the unique Hebrew factors in American culture. However, the specific meaning of the term is seldom known in China. Many scholars even regard "Judao-Christian tradition" as Christian culture, equating Jewish culture with Christian culture. The Jewish factor, the Hebrew factor, and the influence of this factor on the early Puritan culture and Jewish status in the United States were ignored. The purpose of this thesis is to sort out the relationship between the Hebrew factor in the early Puritan culture of America and the unique American culture of Jewish-Christian tradition. The paper first discusses why the unique Hebrew factor was preferred by the early Puritans, that is, the common ground found by the Puritans in the ancient Jews, and the recognition of the ancient Jews found in the Hebrew Bible. Secondly, by comparing the different attitudes of the United States and European countries towards the Jews in history and the preferences of the founding fathers in designing the seal of the United States, the author further proves the uniqueness of the Hebrew factor in the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China. In the next part, the author explores the early American founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the State acts, and finds out the source of the Hebrew factors in the documents. Finally, the author lists the Hebrew names that appear in the place names of the states of the United States, and the study of Hebrew and the Hebrew Bible in American colleges and universities in the 1700s and the 18th century. Once again, it illustrates the uniqueness of the Hebrew factor in early American society. The author combines the characteristics of Chinese culture (that is, an ancient civilization not based on biblical civilization) and the academic status of China (mainly referring to Judaism, The lack of Christian culture and some scholars' misunderstanding of "Judao-Christian tradition", for the first time, explores the Hebrew factors in the early American culture, hoping that this study will enlighten us on the religious and cultural roots of US-Israel relations.
