【摘要】：正英國十九世紀史家麥考萊所著《英國史》,是西方浩繁史著當中至為輝煌的作品之一。該書所述英國史事始于詹姆士二世時期,恰好上承大衛(wèi)·休謨的著名史著;而從文筆上論,麥考萊也繼承了休謨與吉本的史學傳統(tǒng),連同托馬斯·卡萊爾等人一起,使得十九世紀的英國史學臻于高峰。國內(nèi)出版界繼翻譯出版休謨的六卷《英國史》之后,又計劃出版麥考萊的這部杰作,這是學界與出版界共同矚目的
[Abstract]:Macaulay, a British historian in the nineteenth century, is one of the most brilliant works in the great history of the West. The story of English history in the book begins during James II and falls under David Hume's famous history book. On the other hand, Macaulay inherited Hume and Gibbon's tradition of historiography, together with Thomas Carlyle and others, which brought the 19th century British historiography to its peak. Following the translation and publication of Hume's six volumes of the History of England, the domestic publishing industry plans to publish this masterpiece by Macaulay, which has attracted the attention of both the academic community and the publishing community.
