【摘要】:美國高等教育是美國社會文化的一面鏡子,透過這面鏡子我們可以清楚看到美國社會文化變遷的種種反映。在美國,高等教育與社會的關(guān)系一直是人們討論的話題。尤其,在美國高等教育發(fā)展擴張中,其社會作用一直是人們討論的中心。本文的目的在于探討過去百年間美國高等教育與社會之間的相互作用。 美國社會的發(fā)展不斷地塑造影響美國高等教育。反之,美國高等教育也對美國社會發(fā)展進步起著積極的作用。而且,美國高等教育作為公共產(chǎn)品的本質(zhì)是解析其發(fā)展變化的關(guān)鍵。因此,本文著重分析美國高等教育作為公共產(chǎn)品所發(fā)揮的作用。本文聚焦在1910到2010年這段時期,從歷史的角度進行分析,因為這段時期是美國高等教育及其社會變化最大、進步最快的時期。 無論美國高等教育和社會如何發(fā)展變化,高等教育作為公共產(chǎn)品服務于社會的本質(zhì)從未改變。不僅如此,這種本質(zhì)在過去百年間得以不斷鞏固。而且,在不同歷史時期因為不同的社會變化及趨勢有著不同反映方式。盡管在不同時期有著不同的側(cè)重點,美國高等教育一直發(fā)揮著其社會職能,其中包括培訓勞動力、教育公民、增強社會流動性、解決涉及種族、性別、年齡的各種社會問題、促進社會平等公正。事實上,正是其作為一種公共利益的本質(zhì)決定了美國高等教育服務社會的方式及其所產(chǎn)生的變化。
[Abstract]:American higher education is a mirror of American social culture, through which we can clearly see all kinds of reflection of American social and cultural changes. In the United States, the relationship between higher education and society has been a topic of discussion. In particular, in the expansion of higher education in the United States, its social role has been the center of discussion. The purpose of this paper is to explore the interaction between American higher education and society in the past century. The development of American society has constantly shaped American higher education. On the contrary, American higher education also plays a positive role in the development and progress of American society. Moreover, the essence of American higher education as a public product is the key to analyze its development and change. Therefore, this paper focuses on the role of American higher education as public goods. This paper focuses on the period from 1910 to 2010, analyzing from the historical point of view, because this period is the period of the greatest and fastest progress in American higher education and its society. No matter how American higher education and society develop and change, the nature of higher education as a public product to serve society has never changed. Not only that, this essence has been consolidated over the past hundred years. Moreover, in different historical periods because of different social changes and trends have different ways of reflection. Despite having different priorities at different times, higher education in the United States has been performing its social functions, including training the workforce, educating citizens, increasing social mobility, and addressing social issues related to race, gender, age, Promote social equality and justice. In fact, it is its nature as a public interest that determines the way American higher education serves society and the changes it produces.
