【摘要】： 15-18世紀(jì)是西歐的轉(zhuǎn)型時(shí)期,深受西歐影響的英國(guó)北美殖民地也是轉(zhuǎn)型所波及的地區(qū)之一。西方歷史上頗為令人費(fèi)解的獵巫運(yùn)動(dòng)即發(fā)生在這一時(shí)期。它以前不存在,以后也沒(méi)有再發(fā)生,這不能不引起史家們的注意,獵巫運(yùn)動(dòng)不是與社會(huì)轉(zhuǎn)型的時(shí)間巧合而是社會(huì)轉(zhuǎn)型的產(chǎn)物,或者某種程度上推動(dòng)了轉(zhuǎn)型的過(guò)程。 本文主要考察英國(guó)北美殖民地的獵巫運(yùn)動(dòng)。北美的獵巫運(yùn)動(dòng)主要發(fā)生在馬薩諸塞東北部的薩勒姆,它是清教徒建立的一處村莊,到17世紀(jì)獵巫運(yùn)動(dòng)發(fā)生時(shí)，，它已經(jīng)不是一個(gè)單純的以農(nóng)業(yè)為主導(dǎo)的社區(qū)了。村莊東部的居民依靠有利的地理位置發(fā)展起商品經(jīng)濟(jì),經(jīng)濟(jì)實(shí)力逐漸彰顯；經(jīng)濟(jì)結(jié)構(gòu)的變化使得一些以農(nóng)業(yè)經(jīng)濟(jì)為主要生活依靠的村莊西部居民產(chǎn)生了某種程度的恐慌感和壓抑感,經(jīng)濟(jì)秩序被撕裂在當(dāng)?shù)鼐用裰性斐闪舜罅康慕?jīng)濟(jì)糾紛。當(dāng)村莊中的權(quán)勢(shì)人物決定發(fā)起反擊的時(shí)候,巫術(shù)案爆發(fā)的必要性已經(jīng)具備。人們紛紛走上法庭,控告那些與自己的經(jīng)濟(jì)利益有過(guò)摩擦的鄰居。當(dāng)然,新英格蘭較早時(shí)期的巫術(shù)史也提醒我們,該村從舊世界帶來(lái)的觀念很多,居民普遍相信巫師與巫術(shù)的存在,當(dāng)面臨經(jīng)濟(jì)上的波動(dòng)時(shí),巫師無(wú)疑是人們發(fā)泄心中不滿情緒與解釋某些困難的最好途徑。但是,殖民地所面臨的緊張狀況可能也是這起獵巫事件發(fā)展到瘋狂的重要原因。1684年馬薩諸塞殖民地的特許權(quán)被取消,1688年到1689年皇家統(tǒng)治者被起義者趕下了臺(tái),而合法的繼任者直到1692年才來(lái)到,這期間留下的政治權(quán)力真空使得對(duì)巫師的審判無(wú)法可依。而司法程序的混亂也使可以澄清的事實(shí)越來(lái)越嚴(yán)重,產(chǎn)生了令人震驚的惡果。 本文的寫作目的在于考察導(dǎo)致村莊居民爭(zhēng)吵的結(jié)構(gòu)性原因。經(jīng)濟(jì)紛爭(zhēng)可能是整個(gè)事件的根源,盡管它不是獵巫運(yùn)動(dòng)的唯一推動(dòng)力。經(jīng)濟(jì)紛爭(zhēng)與政治動(dòng)蕩交織在一起,與人們普遍的巫術(shù)信仰交織在一起,最終釀成了美國(guó)歷史上最有戲劇性的事件之一。
[Abstract]:The 15-18 century was the transition period of Western Europe. The British North American colonies, which were heavily influenced by Western Europe, were also one of the areas affected by the transformation. The puzzling witch-hunting movement in Western history took place in this period. It did not exist before, and has not occurred since. This cannot fail to draw the attention of historians. Witchhunt is not a coincidence with the time of social transformation but a product of social transformation or to some extent promotes the process of transformation. This paper focuses on the witch hunting movement in the British colonies of North America. The witch hunting movement in North America mainly occurred in Salem, northeast Massachusetts. It was a village founded by the Puritans, and by 17th century, the witch hunting movement had taken place. It is no longer a purely agriculture-oriented community. The residents of the eastern part of the village rely on favorable geographical position to develop the commodity economy, and the economic strength gradually shows; The change of economic structure makes some western residents who rely mainly on agricultural economy have a certain degree of panic and depression. The fragmentation of the economic order has caused a lot of economic disputes among the local population. When the powerful people in the village decided to launch a counterattack, the necessity of witchcraft broke out. People went to court. Sue neighbors who have had trouble with their own economic interests. Of course, the early history of witchcraft in New England also reminds us that the village brings a lot of ideas from the old world, and that there is widespread belief in the existence of witches and witchcraft. When faced with economic fluctuations, witches are undoubtedly the best way for people to vent their grievances and explain certain difficulties. But. The tensions facing the colony may also have contributed to the madness of the witch hunt. In 1684, the Massachusetts colony's concession was cancelled. From 1688 to 1689 the royal ruler was ousted from power by the rebels, and the legitimate successor did not arrive until 1692. The political power vacuum left during this period made it impossible to bring the wizards to trial, and the confusion of the judicial process made the facts that could be clarified more and more serious, with appalling consequences. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the structural causes of the village residents' quarrel. Economic disputes may be the root of the whole incident. Although it is not the only driving force of witch-hunting, economic strife and political turmoil, intertwined with popular witchcraft beliefs, have turned out to be one of the most dramatic events in the history of the United States.
