儒學(xué)敘事下的中國(guó)史——以明治時(shí)期日本的漢文中國(guó)史著作為中心

【摘要】:明治維新后,在西方近代史學(xué)的影響下,日本出現(xiàn)了兩種中國(guó)史敘事模式,即文明-進(jìn)步敘事和民族-國(guó)家敘事。前者依據(jù)進(jìn)化史觀,將中國(guó)歷史描述為"停滯之史";后者則將中國(guó)史納入"東洋"諸民族競(jìng)爭(zhēng)之史。本文通過(guò)對(duì)那珂通世《支那通史》等13部明治時(shí)期日本人用漢文編纂的中國(guó)史著作之文本分析,指出在明治史學(xué)中還存在著第三種敘事模式,即中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)的儒家歷史敘事。明治漢文中國(guó)史大都以中國(guó)史籍為"底本",使用中國(guó)帝王年號(hào)、以春秋筆法敘事、基于以中原王朝為中心的天下觀念敘述中國(guó)與周邊的關(guān)系。那珂通世《支那通史》雖然采用了西方萬(wàn)國(guó)史之章節(jié)體,但是,其時(shí)空表述仍然體現(xiàn)了儒家傳統(tǒng)的歷史意識(shí)。這一事實(shí)提醒我們,在討論"明治維新"、"文明開化"等問(wèn)題時(shí),應(yīng)避免落入西方近代學(xué)術(shù)體系的認(rèn)識(shí)論窠臼。
[Abstract]:After the Meiji Restoration, under the influence of western modern historiography, two kinds of Chinese history narrative modes appeared in Japan, that is, civilization-progressive narrative and national-state narrative. The former describes Chinese history as "the history of stagnation" according to the view of evolutionary history, while the latter takes the history of Chinese history into the history of "Oriental" ethnic competition. Based on the text analysis of 13 Japanese works on Chinese history compiled in Chinese by the Japanese in Meiji period, the author points out that there is a third narrative mode in Meiji historiography, that is, the Chinese traditional Confucian historical narration. Most of the Chinese history of the Meiji Chinese language is based on the Chinese historical books, using the title of the emperor of China, narrating with the style of the Spring and Autumn Dynasty, and narrating the relationship between China and its periphery on the basis of the concept of the world centered on the Central Plains Dynasty. Although Nakotong's General History of ** adopts the chapters of western history, its space-time expression still embodies the historical consciousness of Confucian tradition. This fact reminds us that we should avoid falling into the epistemological rut of modern western academic system when discussing the problems of "Meiji Restoration" and "Civilization".
