【摘要】:中西交流是以地理知識(shí)的溝通揭啟序幕的,但來(lái)華傳教士所帶來(lái)的西方地理新知識(shí),往往難以一時(shí)被中國(guó)古代士人所接納。其中諸多細(xì)節(jié),體現(xiàn)了兩種不同文化間的差異與沖突,例如中西關(guān)于"四海"的詮定。中國(guó)古代文獻(xiàn)記載中的"四海"從傳統(tǒng)的經(jīng)史體系而來(lái),是以中國(guó)為中心的天下意識(shí)。而在利瑪竇、艾儒略等傳教士的地圖和著述中,"四海"從西方的航海大發(fā)現(xiàn)而來(lái),用來(lái)喚醒中國(guó)古代士人的世界意識(shí)。兩者之間的沖突與矛盾,反映了中西交流的曲折歷程。
[Abstract]:The communication between China and the West begins with the communication of geographical knowledge, but the new knowledge of Western geography brought by missionaries in China is often difficult to be accepted by the ancient Chinese scholars.Many of the details reflect the differences and conflicts between the two cultures, such as the interpretation of the four Seas by China and the West.The "four Seas" in the ancient Chinese literature, which originated from the traditional system of economic history, is the consciousness of the world centered on China.In the maps and writings of Matteo Ricci and other missionaries, the "four Seas" came from the great discovery of western navigation, which was used to awaken the world consciousness of the ancient Chinese scholars.The conflicts and contradictions between the two reflect the tortuous course of communication between China and the West.
