Abstract This paper deals with the ever deepening understanding of the ecological crisis in the West since the 1960s. The ecological crisis was first quite superficially attributed to such factors as population, economy and technology. Later the analysis goes deeper and more inward, and the roots of the crisis are traced to traditional western world view, ethtics and even Christian theology. Correspondingly, to find a solution, more emphasis is laid on the need for a change in the world view and values of western culture than on mere improvement in economy and technology on the technical level. With the development of enviromentalism, these views have gained much visibility in western society and began to exert an important influence upon current western culture. This paper tries to review this process in a sketchy way and aims at a better understanding of the relationship between ecological thinking and its background in western culture.

本文探討６０年代以來西方對于生態(tài)危機(jī)的不斷深化的認(rèn)識過程。西方生態(tài)危機(jī)出現(xiàn)后，人們對危機(jī)根源的分析已經(jīng)由人口、經(jīng)濟(jì)、技術(shù)等因素方面，進(jìn)到了對西方近代以來的自然觀和傳統(tǒng)的倫理學(xué)乃至宗教神學(xué)的全方位檢討。相應(yīng)地，解決危機(jī)的辦法也由重視經(jīng)濟(jì)、技術(shù)的改進(jìn)，到了倡導(dǎo)整個文化的自然觀、價值觀念的變革。伴隨著環(huán)境運(yùn)動的發(fā)展，這些觀點(diǎn)和思想在西方社會獲得了很大的可見性，并對當(dāng)代西方文化產(chǎn)生了重要的影響。本文追溯這一認(rèn)識的演變過程，以期對西方生態(tài)思潮與西方文化的關(guān)系達(dá)成一定的理解。
