[Abstract]:The mission of an ambassador to a foreign country is to defend his country's basic interests and carry out official foreign policy, but there are exceptions in French recent history. Castell Barak is France's ambassador to Russia, his activities are quite special. He defied official foreign policy and ignored the aggressive and expansionist intentions of the Russian Empire, stubbornly believing that the czar was honest, kind and eager for peace, that Russia would voluntarily withdraw its troops from the Danube, and that France must ally with Britain against Russia. The ambassador's return within a few years of a batch of secret documents, fully revealed the related mistakes. Telling the truth will help us understand the complexity of French history.
