精確測(cè)定大麥哲倫星系的距離

【摘要】:正精確測(cè)定我們附近星系或是遙遠(yuǎn)星系的距離,對(duì)于研究宇宙的膨脹速率以及暗能量都是十分重要的。在具體操作中,天文學(xué)家使用"距離階梯遞推"的方法,測(cè)量遙遠(yuǎn)星系的距離:首先測(cè)定近處天體的距離,以此為尺子,用以測(cè)定稍遠(yuǎn)天體的距離,以此類推,最終實(shí)現(xiàn)距離達(dá)幾十億光年的星系的測(cè)定。Pietrzyński在Nature周刊上發(fā)表文章,宣稱已經(jīng)對(duì)我們銀河系的最近鄰星系——大麥哲倫星系的距離做出了迄今為止最高精度(2.2%)的測(cè)定。長期以來,上述距離一直是"距離階梯"逐級(jí)延伸過程中的一個(gè)瓶頸。
[Abstract]:It is important to study the expansion rate and dark energy of the universe by accurately measuring the distance between our nearby galaxies and distant galaxies. In practice, astronomers use the "distance step recursion" method to measure the distances of distant galaxies: first, to measure the distance of a near-point object, as a ruler, to measure the distance of a slightly distant object, and so on. Pietrzy ski, published in Nature Weekly, claims to have made the most accurate (2.2%) measurement of the distance of our galaxy's nearest neighbor galaxy, the Great Magellanic galaxy, to date. For a long time, the above-mentioned distance has been a bottleneck in the gradual extension of the distance ladder.
