This article describes a mathematical model of suspended sediment transportation in a tidal river. In addition to the usual unsteady flow differential equations, the following conservative equation of sediment mass, based on the theory of diffusion, is introduced:in which A = cross - sectional area of channel, S = mean suspended sediment concentration in the cross - section ; Q = discharge; B= channel width; H = water depth; d= median size of sediment;ω= fall velocity, k = von Karman universal constant;u = mean velocity in the cross-section) C = Chezy coefficient;ξ = constant, for Qiantang River equals 1/3; ψ = capacity load of the tidal flow. These equations deal with water and sediment separately. In the case of low concentration, it can be served as an approximation.The medium diameter d50 of the sediment, in which about 15% by weight is less than 0.02mm, is 0.02-0. 06mm. According to the analyses made with the vertical concentration profile of suspended sediment measured in fields, laboratory tests as well as the results from the verification of this mathematical model, certain rate of flocculation ard agglomeration of suspended sediment is expected under some conditions. In the case of △H/H中<1, thefollowing criteria are used:ω = 0.00114S0.366m/s, when ω>0.0015m/s;and ω = 0.0015m/s, when ω≤0.0015m/s;where △H = tidal range; H中= water depth below mean tidal level. The formerly deduced formula of suspended sediment transportation formean flood flow or ebb flow during a tidal cycle in the river, is used in this model for computing the instantaneous concentration, where k = 5-7 for straight reaches, but it increases greatly at river bends.The differential equations describing both the tidal flows and suspended sediment transport were solved using characteristic difference scheme with different length step △x. It is stable and convenient for computation.The verification computation was carried out in the Qiantang River from Tantou to Qibao and in its tributary Cao'e River from Sangpendian to Dingjiaba for forty three tidal cycles. The duration curve of the calculated suspended sediment concentration agrees fairly with the measured value on the whole as shown in Figs. 3,4 and 6.
本文采用小含沙量近似,初步建立了適用于錢塘江的潮流榆沙數(shù)學(xué)模型。驗(yàn)證計(jì)算和室內(nèi)試驗(yàn)表明,中徑為0.02~0.06毫米的錢塘江懸沙在沉降過程中會發(fā)生某種程度的絮凝。除涌潮摻混特別強(qiáng)烈的情況外,必須考慮加大沉速才能使計(jì)算的含沙量過程線符合實(shí)測資料(沉速變幅約一倍);還認(rèn)為應(yīng)考慮河灣對河流輸沙能力的影響。在此基礎(chǔ)上,對錢塘江、曹娥江部分河段共43個(gè)潮作了全潮含沙量過程驗(yàn)證計(jì)算,其結(jié)果與實(shí)測值比較接近。計(jì)算中使用了不等步長的特征線偏心差分格式。
