北太平洋副熱帶逆流區(qū)渦旋動(dòng)能譜的季節(jié)性變化及其機(jī)制

【摘要】:本文利用了23年的衛(wèi)星高度計(jì)數(shù)據(jù)和WOA13氣候態(tài)月平均溫鹽資料,考察了北太平洋副熱帶逆流(STCC)區(qū)渦旋動(dòng)能譜及其渦旋尺度季節(jié)變化的動(dòng)力過程。為了揭示其動(dòng)力機(jī)制,本文采用了斜壓2.5層模式并結(jié)合動(dòng)能串級(jí)的理論進(jìn)行分析。結(jié)果表明,在STCC區(qū)由于海洋層結(jié)及地轉(zhuǎn)流的垂向剪切發(fā)生了季節(jié)性變化,從而產(chǎn)生的斜壓不穩(wěn)定是導(dǎo)致渦旋動(dòng)能譜季節(jié)變化的原因。渦旋動(dòng)能最大的時(shí)間發(fā)生在5—6月份,滯后于斜壓最不穩(wěn)定發(fā)生的時(shí)間(3月份)約2—3個(gè)月左右,這是由于斜壓不穩(wěn)定產(chǎn)生的擾動(dòng)需要一定時(shí)間才能發(fā)展成振幅足夠大的渦旋。斜壓不穩(wěn)定提供的能量使得渦旋相互作用加強(qiáng),產(chǎn)生了動(dòng)能逆向串級(jí),動(dòng)能譜向更大尺度轉(zhuǎn)移。渦旋能量尺度在3月份僅為280km,而在9月份達(dá)到最高值335km左右。另一方面,我們發(fā)現(xiàn)STCC區(qū)動(dòng)能譜斜率及動(dòng)能譜通量也有季節(jié)變化,在渦旋動(dòng)能最大的5—6月份,當(dāng)尺度小于羅斯貝變形尺度時(shí),譜斜率達(dá)到1k 3,而動(dòng)能譜通量達(dá)到最大值。對(duì)STCC區(qū)渦動(dòng)能譜及渦旋尺度季節(jié)變化的研究,對(duì)深入認(rèn)識(shí)中尺度渦旋的產(chǎn)生及其演變機(jī)制有著重要的意義。
[Abstract]:Based on the satellite altimeter data of 23 years and the monthly mean temperature and salt data of WOA13 climate, the kinetic energy spectrum of vortex and the dynamic process of seasonal variation of vortex scale in the subtropical countercurrent in the North Pacific Ocean are investigated.In order to reveal its dynamic mechanism, the baroclinic 2.5 layer model is used and the kinetic energy cascade theory is used to analyze it.The results show that the seasonal variation of vortex kinetic energy spectrum is caused by the seasonal variation of oceanic stratification and vertical shear of geostrophic currents in the STCC region and the resulting baroclinic instability.The maximum vortex kinetic energy occurred in May-June and lagged behind the most unstable time of baroclinic in March.This is because the disturbance caused by baroclinic instability takes some time to develop into a vortex with large amplitude.The energy provided by baroclinic instability strengthens the vortex interaction and results in the reverse cascade of kinetic energy and the transfer of kinetic energy spectrum to a larger scale.The vortex energy scale was only 280 km in March, and reached its maximum value of 335km in September.On the other hand, we find that the slope of kinetic energy spectrum and the flux of kinetic energy spectrum also vary seasonally in STCC region. In May-June, when the scale is smaller than the scale of Rossby deformation, the slope of spectrum reaches 1 K ~ (3) and the flux of kinetic energy spectrum reaches the maximum.The study of vortex kinetic energy spectrum and seasonal variation of vortex scale in STCC region is of great significance in understanding the generation and evolution mechanism of mesoscale vortex.
