一種CMOS數(shù)字校準(zhǔn)片上RC振蕩器的設(shè)計(jì)

【摘要】:電子技術(shù)在醫(yī)療、金融、物聯(lián)網(wǎng)等領(lǐng)域的應(yīng)用為集成電路的發(fā)展提供了新的方向,也帶動(dòng)了集成電路產(chǎn)業(yè)的飛速發(fā)展。目前集成電路芯片的時(shí)鐘頻率越來越高,己達(dá)到GHz,因此高性能集成電路芯片特別是高速、低壓低功耗的集成電路芯片己經(jīng)成為了一個(gè)新的研究熱點(diǎn)。同時(shí)這也對整個(gè)系統(tǒng)的時(shí)鐘信號提出了越來越高的要求。為這些設(shè)備提供一個(gè)性能可靠的低壓、低功耗時(shí)鐘模塊具有迫切的需求。本文設(shè)計(jì)了一個(gè)可用于移動(dòng)顯示驅(qū)動(dòng)芯片或電源管理芯片的振蕩電路;趥鹘y(tǒng)RC張弛振蕩器,采用8位數(shù)字校準(zhǔn)方式,對輸出頻率進(jìn)行校準(zhǔn),以減小工藝、電壓、溫度變異造成的頻率變化,使所設(shè)計(jì)的振蕩器輸出信號頻率在不同的工作條件下能夠穩(wěn)定在12MHz。系統(tǒng)要求振蕩器正常工作電壓為1.5V,工作電壓范圍為1.35V~1.65V,溫度變化為-40℃~85℃時(shí),最大工作電流為200μA,頻率變異小于1%。數(shù)字校準(zhǔn)RC振蕩器主要包括譯碼器、比較器、偏置電路和頻率產(chǎn)生模塊,采用UMC 0.13μm CMOS工藝進(jìn)行設(shè)計(jì)和仿真。通過對偏置電路中修調(diào)電阻的校準(zhǔn)方式進(jìn)行研究,設(shè)計(jì)出三種校準(zhǔn)方式,并對這三種校準(zhǔn)方式的可調(diào)節(jié)頻率范圍和檔位步進(jìn)間隔進(jìn)行分析比較,得出最佳的校準(zhǔn)方式。最后得出共采用256檔位,檔位步進(jìn)間隔為0.44%,并計(jì)算出了256個(gè)修調(diào)電阻的阻值。Hspice仿真結(jié)果表明,在各個(gè)MOS工藝角下,電阻、電容為典型值時(shí),頻率變異范圍為-0.906%~+0.408%,最大功耗電流為184.7uA,頻率變異小,功耗低,達(dá)到了預(yù)期的設(shè)計(jì)目標(biāo)。利用Cadence公司的Virtuoso工具進(jìn)行設(shè)計(jì)了版圖,并利用Mentor公司的Calibre工具對版圖進(jìn)行了DRC、ERC和LVS驗(yàn)證。最終數(shù)字校準(zhǔn)RC振蕩器就可以為移動(dòng)顯示驅(qū)動(dòng)芯片或電源管理芯片提供一個(gè)性能可靠,低壓低功耗的時(shí)鐘模塊。

In this paper, an oscillating circuit is designed for mobile display driver chip or power management chip. Based on the traditional RC Zhang Chi oscillator, the output frequency is calibrated by using 8-bit digital calibration method to reduce the frequency variation caused by the variation of process, voltage and temperature. The output signal frequency of the designed oscillator can be stabilized at 12 MHz under different operating conditions.
